Was it just me, or did the faces of the presentation party at the #CWC2023 not bother to hide their disappointment at India not winning? Poor show, I thought and I’m absolutely here for it. I also loved that the drone light display afterwards had a map of India and the Indian flag, but apparently not the Australian equivalent. Delightful.

Jonathan Agnew is so into sensationalizing every ball that he is a perfect fit for any cricket involving cheering squads. 😉

#cwc23 is the first time since 2007 that a host country has not won the #cricket world cup, reverting to an earlier trend bucked only in 1996 by Sri Lanka (technically).
well done #australia, well deserved.
now, when’s the next test match that isn’t tainted by #bazball?

Luckily for Australia, they decided to stop being England and calmed down and are now two shots from winning the World Cup.
Travis Head has done a magnificent job here. Labuschagne has done a good job backing him up. Both just blocking and taking the occasional single now, grinding the score finely down.
(I think with 10 needed from 48 balls with 7 wickets in hand, we can probably say Australia will win.)

@neonbubble nothing short of 3 wickets before Over 35 helps India at this stage. That seems unlikely because the bowling, fielding, and field placement are are not as good as they need to be to defend the low score.

so it beginning to look like if #australia don’t lose their Head, they won’t lose their head.

The arrogance of Australian athletes and commentators on full display:
When Marsh is out to a wide-ish ball, it's "lucky wicket" and the batter winks at the bowler as if to say "you didn't earn that wicket, I gifted it to you."
When Kohli plays on a short ball, it's "brilliant bowling" and Cummins gives Kohli the "see what I can do" look.
Not to mention the ink press spends on pitch, crowd, umps any time Australia loses away.
And they wonder why no one likes them. 🙄

Baffling why Smith didn’t review that non-LBW and stay in. Why would you walk off in a world cup final without even checking such a wide ball? Utter idiocy. Australia are losing themselves this match through brain worms.

Not really been following it, but pleasantly surprised that the Cricket World Cup final is free to view in the UK on Channel5. Quite an atmosphere! #cricket #cwc23 #cwc2023 #IndiavsAustralia

Having got themselves a nice easy(ish) target to aim at, Australia have gone full England and given up a cheap wicket with aimless wafting. Just slow down! Build a total in the power play! You don’t need to try and win it in 20 overs! Have some common sense!
