So this is interesting: a reply on the linearity question on Lemon64 suggests this is just reality on an SX-64. The responder said he was even trying to reproduce the effect on an LCD replacement because it’s so much a part of the authentic experience. Hhhhmm.
I did a Kagi image search and, while some model shots look “perfect”, I do see lots of examples that are similar to mine.
Opinions?

The SX-64 restoration continues. The re-capping of the monitor introduced no failures to fix, so that's a relief.
What has not improved (and I hope has not worsened) is bowing and linearity - especially toward the right side top to bottom.
I'd love any feedback on improving this. Been years since I dug this much into a CRT, so others with more experience truly appreciated! Reshare to others as needed.

»My 19" #CRT is 110 Watt nominal.
My 30" Dell 3008WFP LCD is 163W nominal. (250W max) My 46" LCD TV is 171 Watt nominal.
The 24" Dell 2410 displays at work (3x) are ~120W nominal each. It's really just since LED backlight the last few years that display power usage has gone down.«

Greetings Programs!
I'm
jared. Been floating through Fedi looking for a safe, like-minded system to get installed in and find a comfy~. So now that I'm here, here's an #introduction. In another life, I was a Techno-Wizard, fighting the good fight against the Chi-Town Coalition forces and the Prosek family at large.
I'm a computer nerd who is still in love in the 80s and 90s. I've got a thing for 70s sci-fi and fantasy art and Choose Your Own Adventure books. I miss when the Sci-Fi Channel Anime Festival was a new thing.
If you want a list of things to know me by: 7 [Things] to Know Me By.
IRL, I'm married to a awesome mathy crafter and live in Maryland, USA.
Lots of #80sAnime, #fantasy books 🪄, #SciFi shows, music across a huge spectrum 🎹, #gaming, retro nerdery, #CRTs :crt_test_pattern: and so on.

Aw man, I just noticed a little burn-in on my phone's screen along the top bar and where the gesture navigation bar on the bottom used to be. :(
It's not even two years old.
This is the first time I've seen burn-in in-person since the 90s. :P

It's so cold today (-5C) that I've got four CRTs fired up down here in the basement -only- to provide heat - our house heat isn't cutting it in the basement. Oy 🥶

"Modern pixel art suffers from two ailments: artists afraid of using traditional techniques because things may not look blocky enough, and rosy nostalgia that unfairly depicts CRT screens as a much more forgiving medium than they actually were."

I forget if I asked Fedi for help with this in the past and if I did I completely forgot everything about it so it might as well be a new question.
I have a Sony Trinitron CRT that has a really bad green bleed at the bottom. Is there anything I can do to remedy this as someone who does not know how to open a CRT up without electrocuting themselves?
I finally also grabbed the model number which I've been meaning to do for a while. Would really love to not have to ask reddit. Boosts welcome, I know a lot of people here work on these kinds of things.
