Aw man, I just noticed a little burn-in on my phone's screen along the top bar and where the gesture navigation bar on the bottom used to be. :(
It's not even two years old.
This is the first time I've seen burn-in in-person since the 90s. :P

I have a Pixel 2XL laying around and was thinking of making it a kiosk for some terminal-rendered stuff~
Problem is; it has an OLED. So it will eventually get burn-in.
Any ideas on what I could use to avoid that? I don't want a screensaver, I want something like pixel shifting but for an entire app.

OLED PC monitor owners: what tricks do you use to prevent burn-in?
I have a bit of burn-in from the taskbar, so I'm now auto-hiding it even though I kind of hate that. But it got me thinking about other UI elements. Even with Firefox in a black theme, there's still buttons in white that remain static.

Good news!
Hey already repaired my #TV.
Sadly my repair man said that, if my TV makes a year is a miracle.It's panel is mostly fried, they had to replace the motherboard twice until they make it work again.
At least it was 12 years of #movies and #series that I watched. Now I'm looking for a replacement, probably I'll go for a #MiniLED.
No #OLED for me. I don't like to babysit my TV to prevent #BurnIn. -
I just noticed that I am starting to get some screen #burnin / #imageretention on my #iPhone 14 Pro Max. The time and widgets from the time and widgets from the always on display are starting to be visible at all times.
As of now, this issue is only visible on dark backgrounds at very low brightness (so while in dark mode at night), so that’s good. Still disappointing though.

@susie @enigmatico I mean, choose what works best for you.
Personally I prefer #DarkThemes as I'm really susceptible to being blinded by bright lights.
But for most people an #eInk #Display in a bright room would be better and I wished there were some more eInk Screens with like an HDMI (or DVI or VGA port) to use as a general monitor as I do often have long walls of texts open to the point my #IPS screen suffers from #BurnIn...
