Bemoaning continues….
In iOS 26.2 the situation has not appeared to change for me the end user. Maybe I am wrong but it still seems to be crappy.
I saw other toots about this, so I wanted to lend my voice to the complainers and bemoaners.
I expect that I am a bemoaner because I will not likely abandon my weekend coffee drinking Linux tutorial hobby. And I should not expect improvement, as Apple has a long time reputation for stubbornness when it is suggested that a design is sub-optimal. For example, how many years did people complain about MacBook keyboards while Apple kept denying there was a problem?
I am glad that I did not put “spend less time bemoaning on my list of new year resolutions.”

@wallamidyl It’s an intersection where cars are rewarded & cyclists are punished. Cyclists end up just running reds at this #crappyDesign intersection. There are other parts of the same city where they actually dug a tunnel just for cyclists. That’s obviously on the right path toward incentivizing cycling but if they did that everywhere you’d wonder how the city could afford it.

#Belgian residents: do not buy a hot water tank in #Brussels. They come with sacrificial anode rods that deplete in ~3—5 yrs. When you try to replace one, #Brico does not sell them. They sell the boilers but not the consumables (why is that legal?). You have to go to a professional builder’s supply shop & order one for ½ the cost of a whole new tank. #CrappyDesign #RightToRepair

Today, after hours of troubleshooting, I discovered a nasty bug that (according to git log) has been around for TWELVE years in a very old legacy (but unfortunately still in use) production system, causing incorrect sales statistics without anyone noticing until today.
