Oui, faut bien se protéger.
Après c’est le « plafond » du balcon, une sorte de terrasse-jardinière qui protège des intempéries et du soleil de la mi journée.

Je me dis qu’il y a peut-être des adhésifs d’extérieur : c’est pour fixer une petite cloche japonaise, le trucs qui tintent dans la brise.

Tip for #Brussels dumpster divers: the #Brico in #Schaerbeek finally moved out after months of liquidation. Their dumpsters are gated but I saw someone inside the gates walking with a sheet of plywood or MDF.. not sure if that was pulled from the dumpsters. It will become a Lidl in the future.

en plus d'une super ambiance, j'ai découvert une méthode très efficace pour retirer les traces de cambouis incrustées:
Avec du marc de café mélangé avec un peu d'eau et un corps gras (savon, liquide vaisselle, etc) frotter les parties souillées, rincer à l'eau, c'est parti!

Findings so far on the right angle drill accessory: #Brico: €50, #Clabots: €30 (backroom), small local hole-in-the-wall: €20. Looking for cheaper yet. Surely there must be more holes in the wall that would have this cheaply.

Warning about #iDual lightbulbs & fixtures: the company seems to have sunk as idual.com times out & was “under construction” last March (http://web.archive.org/web/20230321084210/idual.com/). These devices are being sold by #brico as #finDeSeries (iow, no returns). I thought I was just buying old models but apparently there is no future w/this brand.

Plumbers in #Brussels apparently pay no attention to pricing. #Brico sells #loctite55 for €18.50/50m. #VanMarcke sells it for €26/160m. A hole-in-the-wall shop sells it for €12/160m. What a huge pricing variation. A plastic temporary plug goes for €8 @ #Djoser but 50¢ at a hole-in-the-wall shop.

Can anyone tell me who in #Brussels sells #plumbing fittings for soldering? Soldering copper is a dying practice & losing ground to unreliable compression fittings. Small local DiY shops in my neighborhood have discontinued solder fittings. These are my findings so far:

- #Brico: still has them, but brass unions are >€15
- Induscabel: has some but have discontinued all but the most basic fittings
- Facq: has a few, but pricey
- Omnitec: none
- Brico Mat Kelly: none
- Brico Pala: none

#Belgian residents: do not buy a hot water tank in #Brussels. They come with sacrificial anode rods that deplete in ~3—5 yrs. When you try to replace one, #Brico does not sell them. They sell the boilers but not the consumables (why is that legal?). You have to go to a professional builder’s supply shop & order one for ½ the cost of a whole new tank. #CrappyDesign #RightToRepair

Il y a des gens qui s’y connaissent un peu en robinet de cuisine ?

Le nôtre est mal foutu et on ne veut pas investir dans de la camelote. J’ai repéré un #Hansgrohe un peu cher, mais j’espère un coup de Black Friday dessus. Les autres robinets de l’appart sont des Gröhe, pas de la bouse non plus, d,après ce que j’ai compris.

Il y a des trucs à faire/savoir avant d’acheter ?
