Today I've finally (after years) discovered #termux Android terminal emulator. So far I've been using #connectbot but termux is easier to type on, die to always visible control keys (tab, arrow keys...)

As a bonus, you have a local unix environment at your disposal.

Kudos to @termux !

Now I feel I want a Bluetooth keyboard 😁

Am I missing something or the current state of "#ssh clients for #android that support keys on #yubikey" is very sad?

#ConnectBot does not support it yet.

The only other one I've found is #TermBot, which is unmaintained since 3+ years.

Tips welcome.

Сегодня нашел два бага в двух разных приложениях на #Android.

1. #NextcloudCookBook не может подключиться по http и требует https.
2. #ThumbKey в терминале #ConnectBot пишет всё время заглавными буквами.

По-хорошему их надо зарепортить, но...

¿Alguien por acá ha editado textos con #vi de forma remota a través de un Android y #ConnectBot?

Lo comencé a probar ayer (uso Nano por lo regular) y estaba comenzando a descalificar Vi (en mi mente) por un comportamiento inesperado y desesperante, descrito en la entrada de mi nuevo gemlog:

Hoy, el #ViernesDeEscritorio es desde el teléfono. En la pantalla dividida de Android, mitad superior, se ve un escritorio XFCE, usado en la #ThinkPad que tengo como servidor casero (la llamo Darth Vader 🤭) y en la parte inferior, #ConnectBot, mostrando la salida de #fastfetch, que ejecuté remotamente en Darth Vader... Ahora que lo pienso, esto me convierte en algo así como Lord Sidius 🤔

Three ways #tmux makes my life better:
- #ConnectBot on my phone sometimes stops letting me use the CTRL button which traps me in nano and used to cause me to lose everything I was doing. Now I just disconnect and reconnect and everything is still open.
- Having nano open on multiple panes is easier for me to remember (and easier for me to exit out of) than using any of the diff tools I've tried even if it can't merge line changes over or scroll together.
- Forgot use sudo when using nano to edit a file? Open it with sudo on an other pane to make sure you copy over any changes you made. For me, this is better than saving it somewhere temporary, moving it back, and resetting the ownership OR suspending nano, changing the file's permissions, restoring nano, saving, and restoring the file's permissions OR using Ctrl+B then Ctrl+X and piping things through sudo tee with the full no-tab-completion path and filename.

No #gapps here with #fdroid and #yalp, but still do not trust. Also use #t-ui launcher. Does Google still get data from apps like #termux #connectbot, or #userland? ⁉️
