Und als ich neulich eine alte Version von Gerät A zu B bewegt habe, konnte ich diese nicht mehr aktivieren, weil die Bank das Verfahren geändert hatte. Nächster Gruselfaktor.

Am dem 1.1.2021 wird die Zwei-Faktor-Authentifizierung beim Online-#Banking zur Pflicht. Gleichzeitig erfüllt das SMS-TAN-Verfahren dann nicht mehr die rechtlichen Anforderungen und Banken stellen auf App-TAN um. Wie geht ihr in Kombination mit Google-freiem #Android damit um?

😖 So it seems #Yalp store is almost dead.

Thus if we want to have a #Google-free store so as to download apps with more ethics, we have to use Fdroid.

However a massive majority of apps are not available on this platform, Google Play is a must have even if it embeds trackers and is available through Google play services.

What a shitty time for mobile apps, users #data and #FLOSS softwares! We need decentralized app stores! I like web apps for that: no need of those centralised platforms.

@ataraxia937 got my phone setup with @[email protected] as main app source and #yalp store for some otherwise missing apps. Never bought a smartphone app in my life, so the yalp stores built in google credentials work for me. Every now and then they are rejected and updating yalp store usually fixes that.
Searching for apps sometimes doesn't/didn't work, but pasting in a full app package name found via browsing the web lets me work around that for installing that app.

Found a solution on #Yalp to locate and install apps; use app's id to search.

For example: com.arenainteractive.ilves

Then again i'm using #SailfishOS with Android compatibility layer.

Mein F-Droid muss leider immer erst von Hand überredet werden, nach Updates zu suchen.

Wer von euch nutzt #Yalp unter Android bzw. #LineageOS?
Ich habe da Probleme mit der Suche nach Apps. Über die Suche wird praktisch nie etwas gefunden. Habt ihr das auch und habt ihr einen Lösungsansatz?

No #gapps here with #fdroid and #yalp, but still do not trust. Also use #t-ui launcher. Does Google still get data from apps like #termux #connectbot, or #userland? ⁉️

#yalp store got a "non-update" today on #fdroid which is actually installable on devices.

@bikecurious I have an ancient Android (4.2.2) and F-Droid is constantly updating the apps I install with it. I can tell because sometimes when I check for updates in #Yalp there will be updates for apps I've installed with F-Droid, and the next time I check they aren't there (even though I didn't update them with Yalp). Sounds like you've struck a bug. Have you reported this behaviour to the F-Droid devs?

@fdroidorg btw I was trying to update because #Yalp is telling me there are updates available on the Play store for some apps I installed using F-Droid, but when I go to the updates tab in F-Droid, there are no updates available.

#Yalp is so cool! I just realized I can use it to update all the unremovable gOgle crap on my #Android/Linux mobile without needing a gOgle account. It can even update apps that I've installed via APK if they are distributed via the Play store and not (yet) via #F-Droid (eg Wire). Plus of course I can use is to install and manage apps that are not on F-Droid. Bliss!

All except 4 apps from #FDroid, no Google account associated with the phone. The exceptional (public transport related) apps installed via #Aurora (#Yalp) which is also available from F-Droid.
