  1. Great piece by Lea Gimpel of "Digital Public Good Alliance" on “Digital Sovereignty Using Digital Public Goods”. I really liked the push back on isolationism👍 : “There is an ongoing misconception that the digital sovereignty movement is “isolationist.” Open-source and digital public goods are inherently designed to enable commons-based peer production.”

Check out the five recommendations at digitalpublicgoods.net/blog/fi

  2. I agree with #SharonParrott, president of #CBPP:

"The agreement puts hundreds of thousands of older adults aged 50-54 at risk of losing food assistance, including a large number of women

"A large share of low-income adults in this age range are in poor health

“While the new exemptions are positive, improvements for some don’t justify expanding to others a failed policy that will increase and deepen poverty”

  3. With a meaningful influx of interest in #Mastodon and the #fediverse due to the #TwitterMigration, it seems like any declaration of a "winner" in the Carr–Benkler wager is premature.

Peer to Peer: A commons manifesto (2019) - Michel Bauwens, Vasilis Kostakis, and
    Alex Pazaitis

This is an excellent introduction to modern day anticapitalist economic direct action through the creation of commons & cooperative socioeconomic systems.

  5. So the license review is complete. We are officially a #GPL #coop.

All the #Android & backend code and UI sketches are now public - gitlab.com/coopon

There are a few writings on our analysis of the transport situation in India. It would be of interest to a few - gitlab.com/coopon/uauto/uauto-

Much of the work had stagnated as we have to take on other projects for sustenance.

  6. @strypey #PPL restricts the commercial usage of the good (art, music, book, game) to entities which are *not* a #coop . Network of cooperatives to do #CBPP - Commons Based Peer Production is the aim of PPL, which is derived from CC. CBPP aims to be an alternative to neo-liberalism.

The creator of PPL discourages its use for software - 1. It isn't a license for software. 2. He feels strong copyleft is required in software for CBPP.

commonspoly.cc/ is a PPL licensed board game.

  7. @arunisaac When you said that the ecosystem of GNU #Guile was quite pro-copyleft, do they have any ideas / intentions to support Commons Based Peer Production? #CBPP

  8. #transfed now shows location marker and accuracy radius.

Moved to #Leaflet from #OpenLayers for displaying map as #OL 's documentation wasn't upto mark.

Feeling guilty about not improving a FOSS project but currently on a race against time to finish the v1 implementation by the end of december.

Visit uauto.in to check it out in action.

  9. Unlike the usual digital Commons of the FOSS ecosystem, #CBPP specifies the use of a specific commons resource. Thus ideally we should have a network of #transfed instances at area/city level where drivers, truckers associate themselves to be called for business by passengers through a variety of FOSS mobile apps.

Here we extend the #fediverse directly into a networked & distributed resilience against monopolies.

  10. Couldn't do any tangible update to #transfed . Have a copy of it running on uauto.in (my #coop's internal name being #uauto for the project).

Transfed's is not just an attempt towards a #federated FOSS Uber clone. It is an attempt towards #CBPP Commons based peer production where all participating entities seek to earn profits through the use of a commons.

With transfed we should be able to create a fediverse of local first transport aggregation.
