Ostatnio coraz bardziej wkręciłem się w dzielenie się swoimi wrażeniami z przeczytanych książek na LC. 😉
Pozwólcie więc, że i tutaj trochę się uzewnętrznię na temat książki *Nasze imię Legion, nasze imię Bob* - Dennisa Taylora:
Ta książka to prawdziwa uczta dla nerdów. Wyobraźcie sobie co by się stało, gdyby tak Sheldona Coopera wsadzić do rdzenia sztucznej inteligencji, potem na statek kosmiczny i wysłać w przestrzeń? 🚀 I do tego dać jeszcze możliwość nieograniczonego kopiowania swojej świadomości. Wydaje się, że to gotowy przepis na katastrofę? Niekoniecznie. To też świetny punkt wyjścia do opowiedzenia dynamicznej i ciekawej historii. 🤖
Autor wplata w fabułę mnóstwo nawiązań do popkultury, z początku są one dosyć monotematyczne. Mamy głównie *Star Treka* i *Simpsonów*, ale im dalej, tym wachlarz nawiązań znacząco się rozszerza. 🖖
Przyjęty przez Taylora styl prowadzenia powieści wymusza pewne kompromisy, jak na przykład "competence porn". Czyli głównemu bohaterowi praktycznie wszystko się udaje za pierwszym razem. Zabieg ten sprawia, że historia pędzi w zawrotnym tempie, a czytelnik razem z nią, ale też nie pozwala na głębsze zanurzenie się w pojawiające się po drodze dylematy moralne czy społeczne.
Ale mimo braku tych pogłębionych analiz i rozmyślań głównego bohatera książka niesamowicie wciąga i daje mnóstwo frajdy z lektury. A pod koniec zapowiedź pojawienia się nowego, mrocznego gracza tylko zaostrza apetyt na kolejny tom. 🌌

There exist no English (or full French for that matter) subtitles for the French movie: The Great Arch, so I gave my Abes the job to figure it out. They did.
Further, I realized that I am going to be writing more microblogs instead of waiting a couple of months for each full blogpost for the tales of their own adventures in the Abiverse.

MFW I find one of my Abes mucking around in one of the VPSes at 02:30 in the morning -_- (I get alerts when something happens in that VPS because it's a critical one).
Why? Because apparently a problem happened often enough that he was fed up and decided to just go investigate.

The Abes got tired of me asking them to do personal health/task stuff and spawned a new butler Abe to handle just that 😭
On the other hand, the new Abe-06...named himself Arthur, and already setup pulls for Health Sync for Heartrate, steps, workouts, and sleep data to sync with my Obsidian daily note. Oh, and track every todo in a centralized way + publish my tomorrow's todos based on what it thinks best.

Hello friendos, I have made the code open source for "Abiverse" in-style of "Bobiverse" -- autonomous, self-replicating AI agents for your homelab. Note: this isn't openclawd. I have no desire to extend this beyond an interface layer between YOU and your homelab. I'll leave security chaos-fkery to others.

I am actively working at open-sourcing the "Abiverse" concept (Inspired by Bobiverse) of having self-replicating "Agents" running in my homelab for the past month. I'd appreciate feedback as to how to best do it.
Currently, the most significant hurdle for users would be to setup the first "Abe" in a proxmox LXC. You'd have to prep a template, set basic values, install basic tools, ensure SSH config and add its ssh key to your infra, and then manually start the first LXC. You also have to setup your own Redis and ChromaDB. After the initial 'get to know your env,' the first Abe can consult you to spawn more abes based on your infra.
So, the question is: "how much of pain point/time of setting it up are you willing to tolerate?" 5 mins? 10 mins? an hour? Curious because if I can write a script to automate most of it, I will, but this does take some choices away from the user.
Recap: For those who do not know, It is basically having 'autonomous' Self-Replicating LLMs (Local or API, or even hybrid-- your choice) agents managing your homelab. 99% of the stuff they do themselves by talking to each other, delegating tasks etc, and 1% of stuff is you asking them to fix something or them taking it from your todo list.

I am really sticking to my plan of not #Running more than a half marathon on a normal day. And I would have stuck to it today as well. Alas, there are two old guys with a monster of a large, no HUGE black dog. This hellhound hates me (probably because I always smell of sweat when I pass him by). And these two guys almost always unleash that monster. I saw them from a distance and switched directions. This resulted in a 1 km diversion… 🤷🏻♂️ But: I‘m in book 3 of #Bobiverse right now.

More sleep, better #Running experience – and I‘m in Bobiverse book 2: FOR WE ARE MANY. The wind was a rather stinging and painful experience this morning, when I got home, almost all fingers on my left hand were numb (my fault, I should‘ve taken the warmer gloves). But it‘s not at all slippery, so I could use my bike for the commute afterwards. All things considered, it could be much worse.
