I’ve finished a book. That might be the blandest statement ever, but I haven’t been able to concentrate on anything over a couple of pages at the same time for years, putting me off reading (besides the brain rot that everyone -including me- is suffering from).

This was an easy read, now unsure whether to go see the film despite the good reviews. Maybe read The Martian instead?

Wow. Just tried watching #ProjectHailMary

It can be summed up as "Ken Meets Jesus", "Ken Goes to Space", "Ken is a bumbling moron", "Ken's first friend". "Ken's White Savior moment"

If this is the drek that passes for science fiction, I fear for this culture and the storywriters.

It had a good premise. But it also fell apart immediately, with 3 people, 2 whom died on the trip there? And Ryan Gosling is a fucking bumbling moron. You're supposed to be a molecular biologist, and you're basically a reddit-humor laugh line?

Im glad 'how I watched it'. Easily deleted as well. And no money.

What Project Hail Mary taught me is that as a science teacher, I need to up my corny science joke t-shirt game. Right now I have a “Flat Pluto Society” shirt and a “Resistance is futile” shirt (with a resistor on it).

Es digno de comentarse lo que sucedió con la taquilla en el finde.

-Se estrenaron cinco largos domésticos (La casa del árbol, Deseo, Yo no moriré de amor, Los mejores años de nuestra vida y Bajo tus pies) de distintos géneros -documental de música, terror, drama...- de los que un total de cero unidades entraron al top 10. PUM. La primera en la frente.

No quiere decir que el cine hecho en casa se quedase fuera de la taquilla, solo que lo hizo en términos raquíticos, nada parecido a lo acostumbrado. Sobrevivieron, por los pelos, dos pelis en las últimas: La familia Beneton en el 8 y Torrente en el diez, que ya se larga a Masterchef.

-El pico de la pirámide sigue con el tándem de Michel y Streep, la una con 2.5M y la otra rayando los 1.8.

-Sí cambia esta semana el lugar del bronce para el taquillazo -que apunta a no serlo- Mortal Kombat (peli de 80M que lleva 60 recuperados), que baja un cholón la recaudación respecto a la segunda posición y solo se queda 513K de la taquilla. De hecho, gana a Mario y cía por poco, los de Nintendo sumaron 505K. Pinta que los volveremos a ver por encima de los, ejem, kombatientes.

En USA, el orden, que sí altera el producto, del top 3 fue Prada, Mortal Kombat y luego Michael.

-La celebrada cinta familiar Las ovejas detectives llega al 5. Veremos si aguanta en el top. De momento llega con 442K y la esperanza de hacer caja los findes, porque entre semana y encima en periodo lectivo lo tiene complicado. De sus 75M solo ha recuperado 28... Mmm.

-Sigue La Momia en el 6, asentadica, y luego una entrada: James Cameron da el pie a Billie Eilish con el concierto grabado y le da el séptimo peldaño.

-En el nueve, amaga con salir de la ecuación Ryan Gosling: ya quiere regresar a la Tierra.

Me: I adore how #projecthailmary is so hopeful and an exploration of working together and bonding despite and because of differences. It's beautiful.

Also me: I need more Dark Fic and Grace!Whump in the fandom.

The happier the source the more desperately I want What-If Angst. Lol.

#projectHailMary kommt laut den Produktbeschreibungen in den Shops nur im falschen Seitenverhältnis von 2,39:1 raus, obwohl der Film mit speziellen Kameras für das höhere IMAX-Format gefilmt wurde und auch in 1,9:1 gezeigt wurde und somit gut für 16:9-Geräte passt. Somit gehen viele der guten optischen Szenen verloren, denn der Film nutzt 24% der Bildfläche des TV nicht.
