- Wenn das Layout starr auf 800×600 ausgelegt ist, also der Großteil der heutigen Bildschirmfläche ungenutzt bleibt: zwei Schluck.
- Wenn die Website schon bei 1024×768 auseinandergeflogen wäre: drei Schluck.
- Optimiert für den Internet Explorer, maximal Version 6: ein Schluck.
- Funktioniert wirklich nur im Internet Explorer 6 oder älter: Glas auffüllen, austrinken, wieder auffüllen.

I still giggle when I look at the Ford Mustang Mach-E listings, especially those that have a digital Monroney sticker. The stickers list the seats as "ActiveX".
I mean, we've gone so far as most youths won't know about the hilarious and painful memories of what ActiveX meant back in the 90s and 2000s. ☠️

@jesse @genehack @d #ActiveState knew no fear—they made a #Microsoft Active Scripting (formerly #ActiveX Scripting) engine called #PerlScript. You could use it in #Windows Scripting Host or embed #Perl in HTML <script> tags that #InternetExplorer would run if the machine had PerlScript installed.
I don’t know if their hosted ActiveState Platform will build it for you now, though.

(besides; when have we given up completely on triviality right claims. x is a f*cking letter. a letter. the #phoenicians #greeks might own the fkin #copyright) anyway... normally you check with your legal department BEFORE you relabel your internat. brand. -
#ActiveX, #Flash, #Silverlight are all dead b/c they were proprietary platforms that couldn't survive once some real competition from open standards and FOSS platforms happened.
People jumped on #JavaScript feet first, despite all its issues. Proprietary platforms on the web can't survive given a cross-platform environment.
The one sore thumb is #Perl. It lost a lot of popularity due to TIMTOWTDI complexity + the announced breakage in Perl 6. #Scala contributors should take notes.
