A pesar de que vivimos tiempos de mierdificación, la versión moderna es la más recomendable por ser un estándar accesible y compatible con muchas suites ofimáticas (entre ellas las de LibreOffice), ocupa menos espacio y podemos acceder a todos sus elementos multimedia con solo abrirlo como archivo zip. Todas sus ventajas son, curiosamente, características comunes al formato ODF de LibreOffice, pero este último además no depende de la evolución arbitraria de un software privativo.
