Years into writing Python and mutable defaults still bite me occasionally.
Pybites walks through why passing a list to a function and modifying it in-place changes the original. Python passes by reference, so your local variable is just another name tag on the same object. The article covers mutable default arguments too, which is the classic "function remembers values between calls" trap.

oder warum der 04.05.2026 ein Meilenstein für unsere Demokratie und das unabhängige, dezentrale soziale Netzwerk Mastodon im Fediverse war.Ich habe mich sehr gefreut wieder mal in Hamburg zu sein und am 2MR Festival der guten Beispiele SaveSocial teilnehmen zu können.
In den Neunzigern durfte ich als gelernter Appletechniker bei Gruner & Jahr in die Welt der Medien eintauchen und die Entstehung des Internets mit erleben. Damals war das Internet noch überschaubar. Man hat es benutzt und nicht andersherum...
Dass das freie unabhängige dezentrale Fediverse und Mastodon als Alternative zu Instagram, Facebook oder X zunehmend auch in die Wahrnehmung der breiteren Öffentlichkeit rückt halte ich für sehr wichtig.
Dazu beigetragen hat auch das 2MR Festival am 04.05.2026 in Hamburg auf dem gute Beispiele aus Wirtschaft, Kultur, Medien, Kommunen und Verwaltung gezeigt haben wie sie offene Netzwerke erfolgreich nutzen.
