We're having big mourning dove flocks this spring, though not many other birds. The other day I was counting doves as they suddenly all startled and flew away. I'm giving a speech at #Toastmasters today related to a trip we took back in 2001, specifically our experiences in a delightful small mountain town, Invermere, on the way to Jasper. I particularly loved all the waterfalls and that amazing turquoise color of the water (apparently from scattering by super fine "glacial flour").

I definitely need to build an owl box, as well as a couple of bat boxes.

Christmas Bird Count today. Best bird so far is a merlin. But the 50+ mountain bluebirds in Overlook Park were sure beautiful. Phone camera doesn't really do them justice, but it's all I had.
