15/ Nach dem Vortrag von @wolfgangertel regte sich eine Frau total darüber auf, wie man denn Grundlagenforschung betreiben könne, wenn das dann zu solch verheerenden Ergebnissen führen würde.

und so. Es gibt da ein paar Unterschiede und Probleme mit dieser Sichtweise, denn das alles ist nicht so einfach. Die Grundlage für das maschinelle Lernen ist schon relativ alt. Ich hatte das schon 1992 im Studium der KI in Edinburgh. Ich fand das damals aber uninteressant, symbolische KI viel interessanter. Es ist jedenfalls Mathematik und #Mathematik ist absolut nicht böse. Man kann damit interessante Sachen machen und auch böse Sachen. Das liegt in der Verantwortung der Wissenschaftler*innen. Zum Beispiel kann man mit Integralrechnung das Volumen von Körpern berechnen. Nicht schlimm, oder? Man kann aber auch automatisches Lernen damit machen. Auch noch nicht schlimm. Gibt es jetzt über 30 Jahre. Aber LLMs sind schlimm und damit kann man viel kaputt machen. Und diese #Haushaltsroboter.Schön war, dass wir dann beide bei einer Stadtrundführung waren und der Führer uns begeistert von einem Leipziger Mathematiker erzählte, der die Grundlagen für die #Analysis gelegt hat. Ich wusste sogar, wer das war: #Leibniz. Das war vor 400 Jahren. Da konnte man sich noch keine Roboter vorstellen.
