  1. Remember in the ‘90s there were a bunch of acts that had their careers suddenly wiped out because they were still doing what worked in the ‘80s then new acts came along and suddenly they realised that they just weren’t part of the zeitgeist anymore?

  2. We understand why #RICA is necessary, don't get me wrong. But anyone who's ever bought a SIM card in #SouthAfrica knows what a pain in the ass it can be. And anyone who's ever lost, had to dispose of, or had a SIM card stolen in #SouthAfrica knows how *scary* it can be.

What's worse, the process doesn't actually work, when you think about it: techcentral.co.za/great-big-fl

  3. What a wonderful trip down memory lane!

I think my family got #MNet very soon after it launched. If not 1987, then 1988 at the latest. And I remember that first decoder.

I think even after #Dstv launched, we stuck with "just M-Net" for a while.

Love them or hate them, #Multichoice definitely had a huge impact on #television in this country.

  7. You are on the fediverse, which means you already know the centralized web is drowning in AI slop. The algorithmic internet is collapsing under its own weight. I wrote a field guide to navigating the "Slop Economy" and how we survive the death of the useful web.
