Amblin (Steven Spielberg) compró los derechos en 2019. En 2020 comenzó el rodaje y se anunció el estreno para el 11 de marzo de 2022, luego para el 16 de septiembre de 2022, el 27 de enero de 2023 y, finalmente, para el 19 de enero de 2024. Al final, fue estrenada en Vietnam 🇻🇳 el 12 de julio de 2024 (único país que ha podido ver dicha película). No se ha estrenado en ninguna plataforma, ni en DVD o Blu-ray. Hasta el día de hoy, "Distant" no se ha estrenado por ningún medio en Estados Unidos ni en ningún otro país. ¿Cuándo se podrá ver?
La película no es una maravilla ni pasará a la historia de la ciencia ficción, pero es una película muy digna, donde los protagonistas tienen que ir del punto A al punto C, pasando por el B; todo eso aderezado con una serie de monstruos traídos desde el mismísimo infierno en un planeta muy, muy hostil. ¡Superentretenida!"
