I think I just made a connection about why I seem so hypersensitive to #advertising relative to #allistic folks.
It’s the fact that an ad is an interruption, from a colonizer, who wants to colonize me with their shitty memes. And my attention is a mercurial and precious thing.
Rage is a perfectly reasonable response to this kind of intrusion. Even if you’re *not* #ActuallyAutistic.

#Vyvanse (generic, per insurance mandate) appears to still be near-impossible to obtain, for a person in the US with #ADHD. I had to switch to #Adderall XR (generic again) and haven’t experienced many supply-chain issues since.
Nevertheless, the events which led me to this place - we may not have found the definitive proof yet, but The Grift feels strong with this one.
Oh wait. Did I say grift? I think I meant Capitalism.

I love my Miraphone: it is a gorgeous rotary-valved concert #tuba which I have owned since it was fresh from the factory.

I mean, there are ways to implement that #DigitalCash stuff which are, like, pretty actively subversive against #Imperialism.
#Nakamoto consensus was a great development for The Rebellion. By allowing anyone to send money to anyone else, without a third party’s approval. By establishing a shared consensus among competing interests.
But: Proof of Work can be gamed, by sufficiently well-resourced imperials. And game it they did, burning enormous capital to do so.

CW: mh, uncomfortable thoughts
As I reflect today, I wanted to say this out loud in hopes it can reach that person who needs to hear it most:
I know. They say everyone suffers from #imposter syndrome.
But you sense you’re different somehow. You have to admit, the more you think about it, you genuinely *are* terrible at your chosen vocation.
It’s almost too shameful to contemplate, but looking back over the past few gigs you’ve worked, you never actually achieved anything significant, never once earned some genuine praise for a completed project.
You’ve probably been fired once or twice, but still cobbled together enough friendly associations to get past a couple more reference checks.
Your experience, that daily dread and sense of doom just around the corner the moment you’re Found Out: that is *not* normal.
You’re not being lazy or malign on purpose. Maybe you hold some grudges because of genuine injustices, but you don’t *intend* to undermine.
You know you’re not doing it mindfully; still you try so hard, to be better, even though or maybe because you still kinda feel like you’re probably just deeply and fundamentally Bad.
It’s not your fault.
You’re probably living with a disability that you can’t really perceive from “inside,” and which you’ve been silently hiding all your life. Yes, I am talking about #autism and #AuDHD, and in particular the kind that doesn’t get diagnosed until late in life. You can still be #ActuallyAutistic even if you can’t find a medical doctor to confirm or deny this truth.
I’m here to tell you: I’ve been through this, and I survived.
So will you.
#SelfDiagnosis is valid and if you think you’re a fit for it, you’re probably right.
It gets so much better once you start to understand this unexpected fact about yourself and what your actual needs are.
Figuring out which parts are you and which parts were your #masks? You’re going to find that a remarkable exploration. Promise. 🎭

I have a hard time keeping myself fed. #AuDHD means grocery shopping, cooking, nutrition, all that stuff, is just about the last thing I want to spend mental effort on. So, over the past few years I grew increasingly dependent upon regular subscription shipments of #Soylent meal replacement shakes.
The past few months I’ve seen my subscription shipments missing more and more items that are “out of stock.” The food delivery I’m expecting this Friday was so overwhelmingly out of stock (five out of seven boxes) that I finally searched for more information.

I moved to Eugene two years ago, mid-pandemic. I always have tended to be an indoor cat, and I'm #actuallyautistic, and, well ... all that time isolating, and short on social skills anyway, as the outside world seems to grow more hostile by the day ... I've grown a bit #agoraphobic lately.I'm hoping that I can start connecting again, with people who I might even hang out with AFK. And that's why I'm here.
