Growing up I had parents and teachers who #read *to* me, cousins, classmates, friends I read *with*, we had a whole *reading hour* at school and unlimited access to libraries, at home, school and public. I also loved #jackanory and cassette #books in the car. We had a whole community of reading we could take questions to. Lolling about with a book was a thing you were encouraged to do.
Simply buying a kid a book & wondering why they don't have a reading habit isn't it.

Desde la pista de baile hasta el centro del discurso cultural contemporáneo, ELIANGEL irrumpe con SO CVNT, un proyecto musical que redefine el pop electrónico desde una mirada queer, feminista y profundamente personal.
Artista y empresaria queer radicada en la CDMX, ELIANGEL es una creadora total: produce, canta, rapea, baila profesionalmente y se posiciona como una de las DJs más relevantes de la escena nacional, reconocida por Mixmag Latam y Elle Magazine. Su inquietud por crear comunidad y escena la ha llevado a fundar colectivos y espacios clave para la cultura nocturna contemporánea, como Fino Club y su propio club nocturno queer Bonito/Guapa, hoy referentes de la vida nocturna diversa en la ciudad.
Su propuesta sonora —una fusión de electrónica latina, ballroom, ritmos urbanos y experimentación pop— la ha llevado a escenarios internacionales y festivales de primer nivel como Boiler Room, Bahidorá, Tecate Pa’l Norte y EDC, además de giras por más de 8 países durante 2024, con presentaciones en plataformas icónicas como HÖR Berlín y Rinse París.
SO CVNT: FEMINIDAD, CUERPO Y LIBERTAD EN 12 TRACKS
SO CVNT es un álbum de 12 canciones que exploran el empoderamiento femenino y el tránsito hacia una feminidad madura, segura y libre. El proyecto nace desde la experiencia de ELIANGEL como mujer artista independiente que ha recorrido el mundo como DJ de música electrónica, traduciendo cada ciudad, cada club y cada escena en sonido.
Cada track captura las vivencias, emociones y energías de las presentaciones realizadas entre 2024 y 2025, construyendo un mapa sonoro de la cultura club global desde una perspectiva íntima y política a la vez.
El disco surge desde la reconciliación entre el cuerpo, la sexualidad y la identidad intelectual y creativa. Tras años de tensión entre ser una mujer sexual y ser tomada en serio como artista, SO CVNT marca el momento en el que esa lucha termina: la identidad se vuelve íntegra, auténtica y en paz.
Aunque se trata de una propuesta electrónica y alternativa, SO CVNT dialoga con audiencias amplias a través de un lenguaje accesible y emocional. Es pop nacido en el club, pensado para la pista de baile, pero con la sensibilidad suficiente para conectar con todxs.

Producida y protagonizada por el actor, la cinta ganó el competido grant para su producción de 200 mil euros y se realizará con un equipo creativo en su mayoría tijuanense.
Los mexicanos Humberto Busto y Gabriel Gutiérrez Morales, con su película “Tijuana, Todavía”, ganaron la 14a. edición del College Cinema 2025/26, un laboratorio de formación avanzada para la producción de películas de bajo presupuesto, creado por la Biennale di Venezia, institución organizadora del Festival de Cine de Venecia.
Luego de participar en los distintos talleres organizados desde octubre del año pasado en la ciudad italiana, la película mexicana fue seleccionada junto a otras tres producciones con el derecho también a presentarse en el marco de la 86 edición de la Biennale a realizarse en septiembre próximo. El largometraje producido y protagonizado por Humberto Busto, comenzará su rodaje durante el primer trimestre de este año en la ciudad fronteriza de Tijuana.
La historia retrata el encuentro entre un joven que huye de Rusia para evitar ser reclutado en la guerra en Ucrania debido a su identidad queer y un hombre gay de mediana edad que intenta navegar su propia identidad en medio del entorno machista del norte del país.
La película contará con la actuación del actor ruso Petr Filimonov, quien comparte historia personal con el personaje que interpretará en la película, ya que también llegó a México refugiándose de la violencia estatal en contra de las personas LGBTIQ+ que han sido catalogadas como grupo terrorista por el gobierno de Vladimir Putin. Es una cinta que explora los deseos inconscientes de querer ser rescatado, la culpa y la vergüenza del exilio tanto físico como emocional, y los intentos por sobrevivir en una ciudad que vive en constante transición.
El proyecto lleva dos años en desarrollo en conjunto con el tijuanense radicado en Seattle, Gabriel Gutiérrez, quien es un artista queer multidisciplinario, cineasta y programador de cine con gran interés en la exploración de la identidad de género y la representación LGBTIQ+ actual.
Para Humberto Busto, quien se ha consolidado como uno de lo actores más reconocidos de su generación, ha sido todo un reto profesional su primer largometraje como productor:
“En Latinoamérica estamos acostumbrados a hacer películas pequeñas cuando la necesidad es grande. En ese sentido, cada decisión está cargada de mucha responsabilidad. Ser cobijados por el College Cinema de la Biennale ha sido fundamental para materializar la idea y llevarla a buen puerto. Y obviamente la colaboración de todo el equipo que se ha sumado es la que ha generado nuestra fortaleza. Estoy muy agradecido con cada uno de los artistas que aportan cada día su tiempo e imaginación. Confiamos mucho en la importancia del tema que retratamos y el objetivo que tenemos Gabriel, Petr y yo de compartir con el mundo lo que nos significa ser personas queer en un contexto tan doloroso a nivel polìtico como el que estamos viviendo ahora”
También destacamos que Humberto Busto fue seleccionado por el Festival Internacional de Cine Guanajuato (GIFF) como su Becado al Rotterdam Lab, un espacio de profesionalización y networking que promueve la coproducción internacional, y donde buscará apoyos para continuar con la realización del documental anti-capacitista “FOSFO”, que está dirigiendo junto a Guz Guevara. Esta película ya ha obtenido premios de desarrollo en las recientes ediciones de Docs MX, así como el impulso regional del fondo The Whickers durante Conecta-Chile el año pasado.

Ha ido forjando una carrera como director y productor a lo largo de la última década. Ha escrito y dirigido, entre otros, los cortometrajes “La teta de Botero” ( Selección Oficial en FICG – Nominado al Ariel), “Julkita” ( Selección Oficial Clermont-Ferrand en 2018), “La mirada en tiempos covid” (ensayo audiovisual en colaboración con la Filmoteca UNAM, 2020) y la versión mexicana de “Die Letzte Vorstellung” de Roland Schimmelpfennig (nominada en Los Metro en 2021). También escribe el guión de lo que será su ópera prima de ficción, titulada “Bisonte”, seleccionada en Cine Qua Non Lab 2024.Gabriel Gutiérrez
Su corto documental “A Certain Kind” (2014) explora el trabajo sexual queer en Portland, OR, abordando a un grupo de personas que crean comunidad a través de la producción pornográfica; ha sido proyectado en distintos festivales de cine como AmDocs y Guanajuato International Film Festival.
