  7. The 2025 Trevor Levere Best Paper Prize goes to the team of the paper "The drop and the metric system: how an unruly unit survived revolutions"
    tandfonline.com/doi/full/10.10

This is really great news and is for an excellent paper that I highly recommend reading!

Working myself in an area that has at best non-standard measurement units (at worst, some people would argue, is not measurement at all), I found this very interesting.

  12. RE: fediscience.org/@jasemrau/1163

Germany introduced in 2015 a law to strengthen prevention efforts and #PublicHealth

A decade later stakeholders from Lower Saxony and Bremen take stock and reflect on what has (not) been achieved.

Interesting overview of the history and initiatives being mentioned. In terms of analysis it stuck with me in particular how much Germany stresses individual responsibility in areas such as tobacco, alcohol, nutrition and physical activity, and ignores contextual factors.

    Manuscript c3,000 words
    Review c2,300 words

    I do love Null results.*

Nevertheless, a good theoretical background is important (and ideally written down before the results are known).

It should be clear what an effect could look like.
