У них получается не только выпускать обычные чипы, но и создавать современные процессоры на основе собственной архитектуры — LoongArch. На днях компания Loongson из КНР заявила о выпуске нового процессора 3C6000. По мнению разработчиков, он может конкурировать с чипами Intel Xeon поколения Ice Lake. У 3C6000 16 ядер, но можно объединить четыре процессора и получить сразу 64 вычислительных ядра. Подробности — под катом.

I recently replaced my 10 year old HP #MicroServer Gen8 (Xeon E3-1230 V2) by a new "Gen10 v2 plus" (Xeon E-2314).
Similar performance, same power consumption.
Pro: more silent (probably due to new fans), could upgrade to 64GiB RAM now.
So, the "Gen10 v2 plus" (great name, btw.!) is not worth the money. (except if you are afraid, your current Gen8 might die of old age, soon).

Got myself a nice X58 #motherboard with a #Xeon X5650 coupled with 24 GB of #DDR3 #RAM. #Amazing #deal !
Despite its age, the X58 platform still kicks it with its triple channel memory as well as incredibly good #overclocking capabilities (from 2.66 GHz base 3.06 GHz boost to a whopping 4.5 GHz all the time with decent cooling).
I'll be using it as a secondary rig.Do you guys also love old but gold platforms like the X58 from #Intel ?

Pictured are the specs for my current workstation. I haven't upgraded because I haven't had to, as this does pretty much what I'd like it to do.
Thinking about playing around with some HP Z series workstations, as I have a few in "my collection".
I have a Z400 and maybe a few others. I plan on experimenting with using #Intel #xeon processors in business class desktops, like the Dell #Optiplex and HP #EliteDesk, too.
I have a few Core 2 Quad era Dell Precision and HP workstations.
So many computers, so little time!
