Finally finished my @badgefed presentation for @fosdem !
Now comes the real challenge, trimming it down for time. With the schedule so tight and back-to-back talks, I might need to shorten or cut some slides. Looks like my slot may be 15 min instead of 20 if anything runs over!

@loops We (the fediverse) could have the edge!
Technically, loops could support Quotes, and people could quote it with tags (boosting + tags), and then maybe we can create a client that support feeds with such rules (shown me videos boosted/quoted with the tag #pg13 at least 3 times).
I peaked the code, quote support is low hanging fruit, maybe I will play with it.

I have been thinking what it was #linkedin in the pre-crappy pre-influencer era, and it was jobs postings + professional networking + celebrating professional achievements.
If we look to build a "linkedin" in the fediverse, job postings could pretty much be (and it was for many years) forums, so #lemmy or #nodebb could achieve that. #lemmy could even foster professional discussions.
Celebrating could be #badgefed, and professional networking could happen inside #mastodon.
If you create a site with the 3, interconnected, reducing friction (e.g. single sign-on between the three) it could have some traction.
One can only dream.

Because of work, I haven't really made presentations since ~2016, and when I had to, I was basically forced into PowerPoint.
Back then, my conference & OSS talks were HTML+CSS for me (in Spanish, mostly). Markdown was just for Wikipedia.
Now I’m prepping a #FOSDEM 2026 talk for @badgefed and discovered #marp.
Markdown-based slides, and… wow. I'm having way more fun than I expected. -
@mala @badgefed absolutely. This sounds like a fun project. Badgefed is based in ActivityPub + OpenBadges, and how is links both together is thru urls/uris. In a nutshell, the issuer of the badge should reference the actor uri publishing the activitypub object.
I read that the ch35t riddle could be played offline, but maybe we can setup a badgefed instance that allows to exchange the unlocking crypto key for a certificate. That is definitely doable. We can also add something to the #ch35t spec, kind of a badge url that does the request for the user (API).
