  1. I looked around the world at everything going on and my first thought was "damnit, why isn't anyone dealing with this alkaline battery issue"......

  2. I'm happy to read this news today. If you aren't familiar with the situation, and even if you are, I highly recommend watching Athlete A which is a documentary about #usagymnastics and the systemic cover ups that let so many gymnasts vulnerable to assault.

  7. With AOL killing Dial Up Internet I was curious what still exists. I've found that there is over an estimated 160,000 people still using dial up in the US as their only connection (there are others using dial up as a fallback)

Earthlink quietly shut off dial up access in early 2024 (best I can tell).

Incredibly Juno and NetZero both still offer 10 free hours of dial up a month (and unlimited subscriptions).

  11. @jonshell
I honestly don't think CANBUS would exist if it was conceived in today's world. Manufacturers are doing a hell of job making it harder to access information from the car even with CANBUS (one of the many reasons I won't buy another Honda).

  12. Am I missing something or are these tariffs just another way that corporate America gets our money?

As I understand it, consumers paid higher costs because the businesses passed the cost of tariffs on to those purchasing products but now the refunds are going to the people who passed that charge on to us and I'm guessing we don't see any of that.
