There may be fragments from this fireball on the ground near Brewster, Washington (a few hours west of Spokane). I missed this one but saw another a few years ago. They're so very pretty.

There was a meteor fireball over Washington state at 00:48 local time. Here's what the things it lit up looked like on some cameras that were recording.

Last night some friends and I went meteor-watching in middle-of-nowhere California, and we were treated to one super bright one that was so low in the atmosphere it left a visible smoke trail that took at least a minute to dissipate! As well as many other meteors, less spectacular but still brighter than I've ever seen before, and excellent views of all the space stuff light pollution normally hides. A++ would recommend.

Just got back from the local “dark sky” viewing spot with the fam. This is the second or third time we have piled into the car and done this.
Saw a good sampling of meteors! Big and small! Saw a ton of satellites but they actually became less noticeable as my eyes adjusted and the rest of the stars came out.
It’s always cool to really get a good look at the Milky Way.
As we were leaving someone said it is weird that it seems like we’re the only people that go to that spot. It’s literally just a few hundred metres from the actual “end of the road” in #portalberni. But it is not hard to find at all. It seems like an obvious thing.
But then again… part of what makes it nice is it’s always been just us, and a barking dog in the distance.
