They are just the tip of the iceberg of morally and emotionally unwell people who have never suffered consequences.
We have enshittified our sociopolitical #technostructure in so many different ways.
The result is a systemic #wickedproblem which requires creative solutions to make things less worse.

Assemble Your Café Vienna: Pour the frothed milk into a cup, add the strong coffee, and stir gently to combine. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa or cinnamon for that classic Café Vienna finish1.

Can't decide if this is a Pearl Crescent #Butterfly or look-alike Phaon Crescent?! 🤔
Beautiful either way!! 🙂 💕 ...and they are tiny... about an inch wide.
There were a bunch of them at the roadside busy sipping nectar.

My friends and I have tried to find the origin of the "Disappointment" moniker without much success.
What I can say now that I've been there is the "mountain" is pretty disappointing as such... barely visible from the lakes, no big cliff faces or knobs. Contrast this with the bluff above Rose Lake.

Recent #canoe trip in the #BWCA.
We hand a long first day (7 portages!) to get to Lake Ima. Then had some wind, some rain, and some cold weather. It was a great trip!

Great pic! I had no idea how slender their bills were?!
For anyone who's never seen them in action, I took this short video on St. Pete Beach in 2020...

I don't own guns. Some in my family do.
I have no problem with traditional hunting guns, and registered and locked up handguns in the home.
The answer to your question appears odd if true, search yields...
You CAN'T have a handgun without a permit on the links, but your AR-15 is welcome?!? 😨

"Is open carry legal in Florida?
Yes, open carry is legal in Florida, but only under certain circumstances. The state requires a concealed carry permit for the open carry of #handguns, but open carry of long #guns is generally allowed without a permit.
FAQs about open carry laws in #Florida

No, Florida law requires a concealed carry permit for the open carry of handguns...."

Rule of thumb in the #US... Look at #auto / #pedestrian injury stats in your area. Many of the same factors that make things dangerous for #cyclists 🚲 are also dangerous for #walkers. 🚶
Don't know the recent stats, but a few years ago #Florida was the worst in the US, and had two of the top three worst cities #Jacksonville and #Orlando . We generally don't even have sidewalks in many cities.
Several deaths and bad injuries in my area over the years. We have a #GhostBike hanging in a tree about a mile from my house. http://ghostbikes.org/ I avoid riding my bike on the highways in Fla. 🙁
In my experience, car drivers are rarely held responsible when they hit a bike.

This article may contain useful information but it has a misleading headline and does not give the whole picture...
"This ancient disease still kills 1 million people every year. - A new generation of drugs promised salvation from hepatitis B and C. What went wrong?"
First 👉 why the word "ancient"? It is irrelevant.🙄 Many human diseases have been around a long time.
Second 👉 #hepatitisB and #hepatitisC are NOT the same disease at all. One is a double-stranded #DNA virus and the other is a single-stranded #RNA virus. Conflating them just confuses the reader.
Third 👉 hepatitis B is a #VaccinePreventableDisease. The best way to deal with it is to VACCINATE people, not treat people that did not need to get it in the first place.
https://www.cdc.gov/hepatitis-b/vaccination/index.html
This information is not new. There is no vaccine for hepatitis C, so #PublicHealth measures and #drug #treatment are the only options.

A bit tangential, but I highly recommend this #book...
"Burning Down the House: How Libertarian Philosophy Was Corrupted by Delusion and Greed" by Andrew Koppelman
I found this book very helpful to understand a) what #capitalism is, b) why (in a well-managed form) it is probably the best economic system we're going to get, c) how conservatives have perverted and shaped it, and d) how to push back.

#Evidence Review of the #AdverseEffects of #COVID19 #Vaccination and Intramuscular #Vaccine Administration (2024)
👉 The amazing thing is how SAFE these #vaccines are! 👈
Here is a summary table where I've highlighted the bad things. Note that the only one that is firm is the #mRNA link to #myocarditis in young men (but even this is very rare!). Note that the little 'I's mean insufficient #data.

Ok you #mycologists out there... this is a #mushroom (90% sure) that everts its cap to release spores. (At first I thought it was some non-chlorophyll vascular plant.) New one for me and appeared along a roadway I've been walking for years. We are about three days past a significant rain. Wish I had noticed it earlier!
Any idea as to its name? Caps are no more than an inch across.
