Defense Department slashes its religious designations list from more than 200 choices to 31

Updated 5:01 PM EDT, June 5, 2026WASHINGTON (AP) — "The Department of Defense announced on Friday a significant reduction in the number of religious affiliations it officially recognizes.
"The new list of 31 is down from more than 200 previously recognized traditions that troops could choose from. The list no longer includes #atheists, #UnitarianUniversalists, #pagans and #Wiccans."

+ occasionally parts of the fediverse are attacked by rogue mis-governments such as the current mis-admin in USA (Useless State of America) 🌎
+ The fediverse has recovery built in by our beloved creators, hosters and admins :blobheart:
+ one day god and finances willing I will have my own instance, maybe even posthumously or from a benevolent zombie... :ablobwave:Obviously I would not be a fair admin. I will put in the edit box "Have you kicked a Nazi in the nuts", instead of the more usual 'What's on your mind'

Be that as it may. I would welcome #anarchists of all available #genders. Support bigoted #atheists and religious types to change their opinions for #FAQ's.
I would also have a troll feeding area (they taste of jerk chicken) for the famished. Other innovations would be the banning of any rules that can not be changed. When people say they are #atheists they don’t mean they can’t prove that there are no gods. Strictly speaking, it’s impossible to prove that something does not exist. We don’t positively know there are no gods, just as we can’t prove that there are no fairies or pixies or elves or hobgoblins or leprechauns or pink unicorns; just as we can’t prove that Santa Claus or the Easter Bunny or the Tooth Fairy don’t exist. There’s a billion things you can imagine and nobody can disprove.
