They are just the tip of the iceberg of morally and emotionally unwell people who have never suffered consequences.

We have enshittified our sociopolitical #technostructure in so many different ways.

The result is a systemic #wickedproblem which requires creative solutions to make things less worse.

Assemble Your Café Vienna: Pour the frothed milk into a cup, add the strong coffee, and stir gently to combine. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cocoa or cinnamon for that classic Café Vienna finish1.

This is not really new. There was research maybe 10-20 years ago about patients being more willing to "expose" personal history on a web form that they were unwilling to discuss with a human clinician (sexual history for example).

Also I'm pretty sure there was a similar study (without #AI claims) maybe ten years ago. With similar results... the #computer was perceived to be more empathetic.

My *personal* view: These studies are detecting flaws with human-to-human #communication.

#Emotions like #embarrassment and fear of being judged on the #patient side

Being #judgemental, use of #jargon, and lack of #empathy on the #clinician side

    My two cents.

    Interesting!

Nice tie-in to this thread... "vagrants" = "naught-y" = having nought

    "The Deserving Poor"

The idea that certain poor people deserve our help (and others do not) is at least five hundred years old. Elizabethan England tried to help certain groups such as orphans and the elderly. "Vagrants" were put into the stocks, fed only bread and water for three days, then released and told to never return. This included honest citizens who'd had the misfortune of losing their homes and livelihoods.

  9. Can't decide if this is a Pearl Crescent #Butterfly or look-alike Phaon Crescent?! 🤔

Beautiful either way!! 🙂 💕 ...and they are tiny... about an inch wide.

There were a bunch of them at the roadside busy sipping nectar.

My friends and I have tried to find the origin of the "Disappointment" moniker without much success.

What I can say now that I've been there is the "mountain" is pretty disappointing as such... barely visible from the lakes, no big cliff faces or knobs. Contrast this with the bluff above Rose Lake.
