El Bulevar Martí Mercado de La Piedad cumple dos años con una ciclovía de cinco kilómetros, banquetas accesibles, plazas, áreas deportivas y espacios públicos para habitantes de la región.

El Bulevar Martí Mercado cumplió dos años de su inauguración con una rodada encabezada por el gobernador Alfredo Ramírez Bedolla, quien recorrió los cinco kilómetros de la ciclovía de este corredor urbano.
La actividad reunió al mandatario estatal y al secretario de Comunicaciones y Obras Públicas, Rogelio Zarazúa Sánchez, en un recorrido que puso de nueva cuenta en el centro la infraestructura para movilidad ciclista, actividad física y convivencia comunitaria.
El bulevar fue inaugurado el 4 de septiembre de 2024 y forma parte de un proyecto de infraestructura de aproximadamente cinco kilómetros que incorpora ciclovía, trotapista, plazas cívicas, gimnasio al aire libre, áreas infantiles y espacios destinados a peatones.
Una vialidad convertida en espacio público
Ramírez Bedolla señaló durante la rodada que la intervención permitió transformar una vialidad que anteriormente era angosta en un corredor destinado también al encuentro y la recreación de habitantes de La Piedad.
“Hoy venimos a una rodada en bicicleta precisamente para celebrar los dos años que inauguramos este gran parque lineal y una gran avenida, el Bulevar Martí Mercado”, refirió el gobernador.
La infraestructura contempla 10 kilómetros de banquetas de aproximadamente tres metros de ancho, guías podotáctiles y ocho mesetas peatonales para facilitar cruces seguros. También dispone de más de 400 luminarias, seis plazas cívicas, 60 bancas, 30 banquillos, gimnasio al aire libre y juegos infantiles.
Conectividad y movilidad en La Piedad
El Bulevar Martí Mercado conecta con la autopista libre Ecuandureo-La Piedad, el libramiento La Piedad-Numarán y la carretera federal 90, por lo que además de su función urbana cumple un papel dentro de la conectividad regional.
El proyecto beneficia a más de 106 mil habitantes y cuenta con cinco kilómetros de ciclovía y cinco kilómetros de trotapista, además de cuatro carriles para circulación vehicular. La obra también incorporó más de mil 500 árboles de 10 especies y tres esculturas del artista michoacano Mizraim Cárdenas.
La infraestructura forma parte de una obra multianual que contempla mantenimiento y conservación hasta 2027, de acuerdo con información de la Secretaría de Comunicaciones y Obras Públicas de Michoacán. –sn–
