  1. Since my bookwyrm instance, bookrastinating.com is still down, maybe forever. I'll tell you about this book I'm reading. It's called Toxic and it's by Helga Flatland. All the characters are horrible. The story is horrible. It's like a car crash. I can't look away but I hate it. #bookrastinating #WhatImReadingNow

  6. “#Consciousness is a labyrinth from which there is no exit.” —Michael Pollan, A World Awakens, A journey into consciousness.

An exploration of the current state of research into the Hard Problem: what is consciousness, how does it happen, why does it happen? The main reason it’s so hard is that our only tool for exploration is our own consciousness.

  11. Butterfly Fish

I'm reading Butterfly Fish by Irenosen Okojie on the Kobo app.

"A green palm wine bottle rolled on the
wet London Street. Its movements were
audible gasps made of glass. It didn't
matter how the bottle had arrived at its
location under the curious yellow gaze
of the lamppost or whether the
    messenger had been a postman
delivering for both God and the
    dancing devil. The image unfurling
    inside the bottle shimmering like
    moonlight trapped in glass mattered.
Lick the edges of the picture presented
and you could taste the sour, sweet
    traces of palm wine."

  16. Reading Attic Nights, by Gellius, a 2nd C Roman grammarian. It's a collection of tidbits of information, anecdotes, and short essays. All unorganized and random. It's definitely worth a poke through. Although it must have been a personal project, it reads as if he expected other people to read it.

  17. @ArachnidPress
I've just started reading this book.
A great introduction to questionable medical ethics in the 1940s!
Ken Lussey deserves to be more widely known.

  22. I'm currently reading The Lady Under The Lake by E.J. Russell

    What is everyone else reading?

It's book 3 of Quest Investigations, but also part of the Mythmatched Mates series.

The whole series has been addictive, and I keep coming back for more.

  27. Everybody chime in with what you're reading these days. I was a huge fan of Zahn's Quadrail series so I happily jumped onto this series too. Fun, zippy space opera with a ton of action and mysterious alien tech. #WhatImReading #WhatImReadingnow
