#WhatImReadingNow is The Blues Brothers, by Daniel de Visé, about the making of the movie by that name. For someone who grew up in the 50s 60s and 70s like I did, this is a fascinating reminiscence of those times. 1st couple chapters are exclusively on John Belushi & where he came from, & then gradually other contemporaries he played with come in, #SecondCity, #Lemmings. Haven’t got to #SNL yet. Recommend.

@onqueerstreet Thanks to my obsession with #ebooks from my #libraries (yes, more than one), my #WhatImReadingNow is obnoxious. Yardley was interviewed on #HeavingBosoms podcast (recommend if you're into romance; they cover all over the place) and I had pre-ordered the book! I got through 83% of it yesterday so I'm finishing it today after work.

This is sort of like reading a book about a member of the Manson family. The MC starts out so thoroughly brainwashed, and then gets shoved out into the real world to slowly see the truth. Excellent debut novel with some impressive worldbuilding. #WhatImReading #WhatImReadingNow #AmReading

I've never actually read this. But the film was one of those pivotal Queer cinema moments for me, in those early days of finally seeing positive Queer portrayals onscreen. Such an interesting history behind the writing and publication. #WhatImReading #WhatImReadingNow #AmReading
