"Too Like the Lightening" is a contemporary #gayRomance by Travis Beaudoin.
Andrew arrives at a borrowed house in the middle of nowhere that a friend has let him use for the summer. He's greeted by the stunningly beautiful son of the caretaker, who shows him around and seems just as sweet as he looks. There's definitely a mutual attraction, but the age gap and the limited time Andrew will be around holds him back.

“The goblins have been after me ever since I helped the Coven drive them out of Essex. (They were gobbling up drunk people in club bathrooms, and the Mage was worried about losing regional slang.) I think the goblin who successfully offs me gets to be king.”

Today’s review is a book that isn’t your typical #MMRomance: “The Vow of Silence” by Elion Marr. #GayBookReviews
Aeren is finally ready to enter service in the Silent Court, a group of eunuchs that serves the royal family. They are trained and selected for their ability to be useful without being seen. Aeren is assigned to serve the crown prince, Irenus. Aeren performs his duties, perhaps a little too well. Irenus notices him. The court notices Irenus’ regard for Aeren and sees it as a threat. The Faith is the true power behind the throne and will not allow even the possibility that someone else is close enough to exert any influence over events.

“Release” is a #dystopian #SciFi #MMRomance by Marie Sexton.
Misha grew up in the “trenches” of lower Davlova, where the poorest citizens scratch out a living without technology while the high-born “purebloods” live in electrified luxury behind the walls of the inner city on the hill. Misha gets taken in by one of the clans, criminal gangs that run all sorts of operations in the city. Over the years, Misha learned the fine art of pickpocketing. Sometimes he also turns tricks to see if a potential mark had a lot of money, and where he kept it.
One day, the clan leader offers Misha a new opportunity. One of the most powerful men in the city is looking for a new toy boy and wants someone “exotic.” The clan leader isn’t just asking Misha to prostitute himself. She wants him to gain the man’s confidence and learn his secrets. The information may provide the catalyst that starts a revolution.

The Archangel #SciFi #MMRomance series by C.J. Dragon follows the adventures of Raphael, a child of the Mars colony, the main outpost for humanity since Earth is no longer habitable. He is also a powerful empath, so while he loves his extended family, he sometimes needs time alone to keep their thoughts from overwhelming him. That's easily accomplished by taking his small scout ship Agatha out to look for minerals in the asteroid belt. It's on one of these trips that he encounters a Chi'NoSa ship that accidentally damages Agatha. Lord Commander Teo of the ship orders Agatha and Raphael to be brought aboard. Teo has never met a human, is fascinated by Raphael, and wants to keep him around. Thus begins a series of adventures as the two men become lovers and attempt to bridge a vast cultural gulf between their two races.

"Hybrid Incubator" is a darkly #erotic #SciFI #MMRomance story by Meraki P. Dark.
Alex has been an avid ecologist since he was a young boy picking up trash in the woods that people carelessly discarded. Unfortunately, even with a doctorate in environmental science, his passion doesn't pay the bills. After another fruitless day of interviewing for jobs he is over-qualified for, Alex feels the need for a drink. Slightly drunk, he agrees to a road trip with another patron who is also a bit down on his luck. As soon as they're on their way, Alex realizes he's been drugged. When he wakes up, he's in a warehouse, naked and restrained, along with several other men. When an octopus-like creature takes Alex to a room to be subjected to a humiliating medical examination, things go from bad to worse.

Obligatory self-promotion for my book, “Good Dawg.”
It took too long for Kevin to figure out he needed to be with a man who knew how to take control. He's not the young twink he sees submissives depicted as in the kinky stories he reads. Even if they were mostly fantasy, those books gave him a glimpse of what life could be like with the right dominant but also seemed to put it further out of reach.
Being a clinical psychologist in a big hospital keeps Theo busy. He's definitely drawn to men who are able to submit and give him complete control over their pleasure. Theo loves exploring the world of dominance and submission, but he doesn't see a full-time submissive in his future. He doesn't have the time to look after someone who needs that much attention.
When Theo's dog uses her wiles to introduce Kevin and Theo, the sparks certainly fly. Can two men who feel they're better off single really build a life together? #BDSM #MMRomance

“Dublin Bay” by John Patrick is a complex #MMRomance.
James is a seventeen-year-old working-class Irish man just out of school and looking for his first job. He’s picking mussels from Dublin Bay one day to feed his family when he spots another young man his age on the dock. James is mesmerized by the blond youth, Otto, who also seems attracted to James. Otto is German, and he and his father are on the dock seeing off Otto’s mother. It’s 1939, and what will become World War II is just starting in earnest. Otto makes his father buy the mussels from James, and before he knows it, James and his sister Bella are employed by Otto’s father to take care of their home. Otto and James soon become more than friends and are committed to finding a way to be together. As if their relationship weren’t dangerous enough, the two young men do what they can to help refugees from Nazi Germany. It’s a course of action that could get the two killed.

General of the Roman army and nephew of the emperor Marius is gifted a pleasure slave by a twisted noble seeking favor. Although not into men, Marius has no choice but to accept the malnourished Celt, Kyle. As the two get to know each other, different feelings emerge, and the growing bond between them puts both men in danger. Omnia Vincit Amor by Maxime Jaz is an ambitious epic love story in three parts that doesn’t follow a typical #MMromance plot.
Kyle was captured at a young age in Britannia after the rest of his family were killed, and quickly “broken in” as a sex slave, trained to give pleasure to whoever he was given to. He has spent many years chained to a bed in the noble’s house, only released to “entertain” at parties. It’s a wretched life, but all he knows. When he is torn away from that and thrown in with a seemingly volatile Roman general, he feels totally lost.

When he gets to the locker room, three of his teammates are still there and they’re also very angry. In a desperate move to placate them, straight Mikey offers to orally service the three. "Dominus" is an epic series by J.P. Kenwood about forbidden #gay love between a Roman general in line to be emperor and an enslaved captured Dacian who isn't what he at first appears, set in the first-century Roman empire.
General Gaius Fabius returns to Rome in triumph from the Dacian wars but soon finds himself restless for a new challenge. Somewhat bored with his current stable of pleasure slaves, Gaius finds his challenge in the form of Allerix, a Dacian prisoner put up for auction. Gaius decides to make Allerix his new boy toy, but taming the young man may be more of a challenge than Gaius bargained for.

"Davo" is a quirky #mmRomance between a big-city academic and a mechanic who likes to wear skirts set in the rough-and-tumble world of a #contemporary Australian mining camp by N.R. Walker
When academic researcher Fergus lands in a remote mining camp in the far reaches of Western Australia, he's expecting a change of scenery, but he's totally unprepared for the extreme conditions of the desert, as well as the quirky collection of permanent residents that call the town home. The biggest surprise of all is Davo. The muscular mechanical supervisor has a sunny disposition with a totally disarming smile, and likes to wear skirts. And, nobody bats an eye. Fergus is instantly attracted to the man, and the feeling is mutual. The two quickly form an intimate relationship, but both know there's a time limit on it, since Fergus is only there for a few weeks to interview people before flying back to Sydney.

One of the best of 2021: “Ansariland” by J. Alan Veercamp. #SciFi #MMRomance
In a dystopian future where the gulf between rich and poor is even greater (if you can imagine that), Arad is a “slug” — the common slang term for someone who’s poor, homeless, and assumed to be uneducated. They are considered the dregs of society, and there are a lot of them. Most work is mechanized, so jobs are scarce. The challenge is especially hard for Arad, whose true identity has been erased. Arad is at least young and sufficiently good-looking to make enough to eat by selling himself to those with the money to pay for his services. When Captain Torrin offers Arad a job on his cargo ship as his cabin boy, the young man is absolutely certain what the job entails and is almost as sure that the captain is not to be trusted, but he feels out of options and takes the job.

My latest review: “Tawny” by Chris Quinton. #Fantasy #MMRomance #GayBookReviews
Hal is a wanderer. He never spends too much time in any one place, but he’s been in the Lynn Valley for a while now. He works at the Black Dog pub which rents him a cheap room in the old carriage house. Hal has also made friends with lots of people, as well as the ginger cat that hangs around the pub and seems to have taken a liking to him. It’s tempting to stay, even more so when a handsome red-headed stranger checks into the pub for a few days. Gryff still carries an unhealed wound from a centuries-ago battle in an attempted coup that he was on the wrong side of. One of his comrades from that ancient war, Morgan, is trying to draw Gryff back into the fight to free their imprisoned leader. Will Gryff choose to honor his pledge to his old leader, or will the desire for Hal prove stronger?

A 'dead' rock star meets a talented bass player in a dive bar, and sparks fly in “Drifter” by Eden Winters.
Killian is riding high as the lead singer of the band Trickster, but things aren’t going so well behind the scenes. Killian’s brother Eliot, the band’s bass guitarist, is involved in an abusive relationship with Rob, the drummer. Rob’s drug addiction sends him off the rails and results in the crash of their tour bus, killing everyone in the band and the driver. Except Killian. The young man is left with serious emotional and physical scars. He decides to let his fans continue to think he’s dead while taking time away from his old life. Killian drifts from town to town, playing in small bars and nightclubs. It’s in one of these gigs that Killian meets Mike, a bass player estranged from his own family.

Two young men are thrown together on a space voyage full of mysteries in “The Darkness Outside Us” by Eliot Schrefer.
#SciFi #MMRomanceAmbrose wakes up on board his ship, and is told by the craft’s AI that he was injured during the launch and has been in a coma. He remembers all his training for this special mission to rescue his sister, who was sent to see if Saturn’s moon Titan could be colonized, but he doesn’t remember getting on board the ship or the accident that apparently injured him. There’s something else that’s concerning: Ambrose’s ship has been joined to another craft, that of his country’s primary competitor, and that ship is occupied by another spacefarer, Kodiak. The two young men must work together to unravel the mysteries and contradictions that seem to cloud their real mission.

Fairy tale romances can be fun. “The Prince’s Consort” has a handsome prince, a wicked father and his son, who proves to be more than he seems. #MMRomance
Amory has never been able to please his father. When his older brother catches Amory kissing his best friend Tristan, things can only get worse, but Amory is surprised when his father informs him he will be coming with him to the palace the next day. Surprise turns to shock when Amory’s father makes a startling proposal to the prince. Crown Prince Philip is almost as shocked as Amory at his father’s despicable suggestion. Still, he feels strongly attracted to the young man, and wants to protect him from his father’s avarice. Philip offers Amory a room in the palace and the two quickly become friends, and then lovers. As Crown Prince, Philip has responsibilities, and some of those Amory can’t help with, or can he?

“The Taste of Desert Green” is a quirky contemporary #MMRomance by Kim Fielding.
Zephyr has been on his own since he was a boy. He has learned to rely on himself and nobody else. Although comfortable with his body, he likes to express himself in very feminine ways. When he needs money for food or to pay for a cheap hotel, Zephyr offers his body to men willing to pay for it. That doesn’t always work out well. One day, a trucker, full of self-loathing over what he has done, beats Zephyr up and leaves him by a dumpster in a small desert town.
George runs Fossil Galaxy, a tourist attraction in the tiny town of Conrad Junction in the middle of the Mojave Desert. When taking the trash out after closing one night, George finds the barely conscious Zephyr. George takes Zephyr in and patches him up. George is the first man who helps Zephyr because he needs it. It’s an unfamiliar experience for him, and not one Zephyr is prepared to deal with.
