Two young men are thrown together on a space voyage full of mysteries in “The Darkness Outside Us” by Eliot Schrefer.
#SciFi #MMRomanceAmbrose wakes up on board his ship, and is told by the craft’s AI that he was injured during the launch and has been in a coma. He remembers all his training for this special mission to rescue his sister, who was sent to see if Saturn’s moon Titan could be colonized, but he doesn’t remember getting on board the ship or the accident that apparently injured him. There’s something else that’s concerning: Ambrose’s ship has been joined to another craft, that of his country’s primary competitor, and that ship is occupied by another spacefarer, Kodiak. The two young men must work together to unravel the mysteries and contradictions that seem to cloud their real mission.

“Dublin Bay” by John Patrick is a complex #MMRomance.
James is a seventeen-year-old working-class Irish man just out of school and looking for his first job. He’s picking mussels from Dublin Bay one day to feed his family when he spots another young man his age on the dock. James is mesmerized by the blond youth, Otto, who also seems attracted to James. Otto is German, and he and his father are on the dock seeing off Otto’s mother. It’s 1939, and what will become World War II is just starting in earnest. Otto makes his father buy the mussels from James, and before he knows it, James and his sister Bella are employed by Otto’s father to take care of their home. Otto and James soon become more than friends and are committed to finding a way to be together. As if their relationship weren’t dangerous enough, the two young men do what they can to help refugees from Nazi Germany. It’s a course of action that could get the two killed.

Quick promo! One of my books is the Daily Deal on JMS Books today. Get Stowaway, a saucy M/M sci-fi romance novel for just 99c. That was my second published book, and I reckon Kit still counts as my lippiest character ever. He's a very cheeky boy indeed.

"Davo" is a quirky #mmRomance between a big-city academic and a mechanic who likes to wear skirts set in the rough-and-tumble world of a #contemporary Australian mining camp by N.R. Walker
When academic researcher Fergus lands in a remote mining camp in the far reaches of Western Australia, he's expecting a change of scenery, but he's totally unprepared for the extreme conditions of the desert, as well as the quirky collection of permanent residents that call the town home. The biggest surprise of all is Davo. The muscular mechanical supervisor has a sunny disposition with a totally disarming smile, and likes to wear skirts. And, nobody bats an eye. Fergus is instantly attracted to the man, and the feeling is mutual. The two quickly form an intimate relationship, but both know there's a time limit on it, since Fergus is only there for a few weeks to interview people before flying back to Sydney.

Fairy tale romances can be fun. “The Prince’s Consort” has a handsome prince, a wicked father and his son, who proves to be more than he seems. #MMRomance

Still, he feels strongly attracted to the young man, and wants to protect him from his father’s avarice. Philip offers Amory a room in the palace and the two quickly become friends, and then lovers. As Crown Prince, Philip has responsibilities, and some of those Amory can’t help with, or can he?

The Archangel #SciFi #MMRomance series by C.J. Dragon follows the adventures of Raphael, a child of the Mars colony, the main outpost for humanity since Earth is no longer habitable. It's on one of these trips that he encounters a Chi'NoSa ship that accidentally damages Agatha. Lord Commander Teo of the ship orders Agatha and Raphael to be brought aboard. To follow up: Utterly charming, and made me tear up in the best way. Sweet disaster twink meets ace cinnamon roll single dad (kinda) in a small-town romance. Finley is his own worst enemy, but I can sympathize with his doom-spiraling. Rating: 5 out of 5!

Australian Damson O’Reilly fought in the Pacific during the closing months of World War II and was part of the occupational force keeping peace in Japan after surrender. With almost no family to go home to, Damson settled in France after leaving the army. Seeking a quieter place where he can write and paint, Damson goes to Italy. In Siena, he stumbles on an auction where an abandoned old farmhouse in the countryside is on the block, for the third time. Much to Damson’s surprise, his minimal bid wins. “The Taste of Desert Green” is a quirky contemporary #MMRomance by Kim Fielding.
Zephyr has been on his own since he was a boy. He has learned to rely on himself and nobody else. Although comfortable with his body, he likes to express himself in very feminine ways. When he needs money for food or to pay for a cheap hotel, Zephyr offers his body to men willing to pay for it. That doesn’t always work out well. One day, a trucker, full of self-loathing over what he has done, beats Zephyr up and leaves him by a dumpster in a small desert town.
George runs Fossil Galaxy, a tourist attraction in the tiny town of Conrad Junction in the middle of the Mojave Desert. When taking the trash out after closing one night, George finds the barely conscious Zephyr. George takes Zephyr in and patches him up. George is the first man who helps Zephyr because he needs it. It’s an unfamiliar experience for him, and not one Zephyr is prepared to deal with.

Next up this week is a review of the #SciFi story “Dark Space” by Lisa Henry. #MMRomance #GayBookReviews
Brady was conscripted at sixteen into the space force defending Earth from the Faceless, a highly advanced alien race. He left his father and little sister behind. Three years into his ten year term, Brady wants nothing more than to go home. Life on one of the military space stations defending the solar system is not nearly as exciting as the recruiting posters made out. Then again, the young man featured in most of the posters, Cameron, was taken prisoner by the Faceless five years ago, the only human taken prisoner rather than killed outright. Speculation over Cameron’s fate is one of the main topics of conversation among the recruits. When Cameron is suddenly sent back to the station, the story isn’t like anything the men imagined, and as a trainee medic, Brady is thrown right in the middle of it.

"Too Like the Lightening" is a contemporary #gayRomance by Travis Beaudoin.
Andrew arrives at a borrowed house in the middle of nowhere that a friend has let him use for the summer. He's greeted by the stunningly beautiful son of the caretaker, who shows him around and seems just as sweet as he looks. There's definitely a mutual attraction, but the age gap and the limited time Andrew will be around holds him back.

Today’s review is a book that isn’t your typical #MMRomance: “The Vow of Silence” by Elion Marr. #GayBookReviews
Aeren is finally ready to enter service in the Silent Court, a group of eunuchs that serves the royal family. They are trained and selected for their ability to be useful without being seen. Aeren is assigned to serve the crown prince, Irenus. Aeren performs his duties, perhaps a little too well. Irenus notices him. The court notices Irenus’ regard for Aeren and sees it as a threat. The Faith is the true power behind the throne and will not allow even the possibility that someone else is close enough to exert any influence over events.

“Release” is a #dystopian #SciFi #MMRomance by Marie Sexton.
Misha grew up in the “trenches” of lower Davlova, where the poorest citizens scratch out a living without technology while the high-born “purebloods” live in electrified luxury behind the walls of the inner city on the hill. Misha gets taken in by one of the clans, criminal gangs that run all sorts of operations in the city. Over the years, Misha learned the fine art of pickpocketing. Sometimes he also turns tricks to see if a potential mark had a lot of money, and where he kept it.
One day, the clan leader offers Misha a new opportunity. One of the most powerful men in the city is looking for a new toy boy and wants someone “exotic.” The clan leader isn’t just asking Misha to prostitute himself. She wants him to gain the man’s confidence and learn his secrets. The information may provide the catalyst that starts a revolution.
