Harley and I went for a walk but kept it short - it's 32°C here in #Innisfil, feeling like 41°C with humidity. She needed a drink after leaving dozens of liquid messages for local dog friends.
In our small neighborhood of maybe 150 ish homes and cottages there were 2 HVAC service vans parked out front of presumably very warm houses. Happy #CanadaDay.

This past weekend my wife and I went looking for a small independent #Grocery store in the #Innisfil area where we could buy fruits and vegetables, similar to what we had access to in #Caledon. Unfortunately we only have the big grocery chains nearby, Sobey's and Metro, until the farmer's markets start opening in June. We're relatively recent inhabitants in our #Innisfil neighborhood so the local flooding is new to us. Our neighbours tell us that the level of Lake Simcoe is much higher than normal and low properties along the shore are under a foot of water. We're on slightly higher ground and luckily dry but just a few blocks south some lots are also flooded, including my brother's cottage.

Just got back from driving family to the GO Station for their train to Toronto. Horrible driving conditions with whiteouts and snow covered roads. Stay home Ontarians. Sorry, no video reporting as my hands were clamped to the steering wheel.

Don't drive unless you really really have to, and then don't drive anyway.

Harley and I just completed a short walk around our new community of Belle Ewart. Temperature is 29°C but really muggy. Got back to our temporary residence a bit sweaty and thirsty, but thankfully, it has air conditioning. I might have to check out our local community beach after lunch. We were fortunate to take advantage of the hiking trails and scenic beauty of the area with the Bruce Trail, Forks of The Credit Road, and numerous parks within a few kilometers. More Canadians should be aware of this approximately 1,050-kilometre geological feature that today is protected in Ontario as a continuous corridor.
