Your website may work perfectly for you. But that proves almost nothing👀
You know where to click, what things look like, and how they’re supposed to work. Your users may experience it differently.
Try navigating without the tools you normally rely on. You might uncover an accessibility barrier hiding in plain sight.👉 Try it on your Website: https://www.accesstive.com/free-accessibility-checker/

With the European Accessibility Act (EAA) now in full effect, meeting WCAG 2.1/2.2 and EN 301 549 standards is essential for digital learning tools across the EU.
🤝Abstract-Technology has officially partnered with AccessiWay to achieve true compliance: https://abstract-technology.de/blog/digital-accessibility-in-europe
Together, we offer end-to-end support for #OpenEdX:

The takeaway: AI is not always perfect, so it still requires trust and verification. But for lower-risk personal tasks, it can save time and make inaccessible information easier to access.

#Accesibility question ✋️ Will content placed within a <noscript> element be hidden from screen readers if scripts are active?
My specific situation is: I have a "read more" button hiding the contents of a long list, as I only need the top things listed to be visible as a default.
Actually, I guess my first question should be, would the hidden parts of the list be visible to a screen reader anyway, since it reads the code? If that's the case, how do I make it so screen readers skip the contents of the <noscript> tag so that visually abled people can read the stuff there, but screen readers don't read the same information twice?
Sorry for my convoluted phrasing 😵💫 I'm not tech savvy so I'm figuring out my question as I go.

My wife travels for her work on a regular basis. She asked me yesterday if there was an easier way to track her mileage outside of a spreadsheet since it takes a lot of time. That prompted me using claude to build her a web based mileage tracker. Not only did I feel accomplished but since my wife is sighted, I felt like I helped her in a way that she didn't know how technically. Working in digital accessibility, I was able to fix a few dialog and button control issues that were affecting the overall usage of the app today. What an amazing feeling and a worthy contribution with the help of AI. #AICoding #DigitalAccessibility #WebAccessibility #BlindHusbandDidATechieThing #HusbandHelp

I need your help.
https://nosuggest.com/accessibility
I am applying for Digital Promise / CAST "Accessibility Baseline" certification (for the ISTE EdTech listing), which requires a third-party WCAG 2.1 AA conformance review (ACR/VPAT).
NoSuggest is completely free, indie, & open-source. Would anyone in this community be willing to do a volunteer accessibility review, or point me toward a low-cost path?

Thanks!

🔒🧐 Ah, the internet's favorite pastime: demanding you surrender your soul (and cookies) just to read another overhyped ode to "genius." Apparently, public brilliance now hides behind a JavaScript #paywall. So exclusive! 💰✨

I made some readability updates to my site today after hearing that one of my posts was hard to read.
The changes are meant to make the site more low-vision friendly:
- larger article/list text
- darker body text
- less reliance on italic text for longer notes
- cleaner post previews on category pages
I’m totally blind, so I can test structure, keyboard access, screen reader behavior, headings, and content flow, but I can’t personally judge visual readability.
If you use magnification, low-vision settings, high contrast, dark mode, reader mode, or have visual fatigue/migraine/contrast sensitivity, I’d appreciate feedback.
Does anything still feel too small, too light, too crowded, or visually tiring?

What if the rise of AI says more about the the web being designed inaccessibly than AI itself?
@tink is speaking The Web You Want exploring how inaccessible and poorly designed experiences have created opportunities for AI tools to act as intermediaries bridging gaps left by inaccessible web experiences

Help me, #wcag nerds. Site has many pages that are long lists of links, under headings. Links are often PDFs, Word docs, Powerpoint decks, etc. Getting some pushback on including document icons because it’s “too cluttered/overwhelming.”
My brilliant solution: only show the document icons on hover/focus. (Icons will also have text equivalents.)
Brilliant? Stupid? Accessible? Abject folly? I need opinions, please!
