My wife travels for her work on a regular basis. She asked me yesterday if there was an easier way to track her mileage outside of a spreadsheet since it takes a lot of time. That prompted me using claude to build her a web based mileage tracker. Not only did I feel accomplished but since my wife is sighted, I felt like I helped her in a way that she didn't know how technically. Working in digital accessibility, I was able to fix a few dialog and button control issues that were affecting the overall usage of the app today. What an amazing feeling and a worthy contribution with the help of AI. #AICoding #DigitalAccessibility #WebAccessibility #BlindHusbandDidATechieThing #HusbandHelp

When I took Drivers Ed back in the olden days, one of the admonitions was "don't overdrive your headlights" meaning, don't drive so fast that you won't have time to react to something from the time your headlights hit it to the time it reaches your car.

I think it's the same with AI-assisted coding: don't overreach your own knowledge. You need to be able to personally detect when the LLM is doing something wrong.

@drwhax I've been very concerned about the emergence of Mythos-class AI that can weaponize vulns. I'm personally responding by adding formal memory safety proof coverage to critical libraries in C (notably: OpenSSL). Testing - which can identify many but not all bugs - I no longer consider sufficient. Instead we need formal verification to prove the *absence* of bugs/vulns. #aicoding #security
