Start with nothing. End with a secured Jakarta EE app. And live-code everything in between. 👨💻
At #BaselOne26, @hannotify builds a RESTful app from scratch, secures it with JWT and connects an Angular frontend.
JAX-RS, JPA, #MicroProfile, OpenAPI – with as much live coding as possible. And if things go wrong along the way? That’s part of the game. 😉

Stateless JSF

WildFly 41 can package the cloud Galleon feature pack into a bootable JAR. I built the full path: a Jakarta EE app, a Podman image, two Kubernetes pods, KUBE_PING discovery, narrow RBAC, and a session handoff that proves replication across both nodes. I also cover the details that can bite later: transaction node IDs, management health on port 9990, and JGroups authentication without traffic encryption. https://www.the-main-thread.com/p/wildfly-41-bootable-jar-kubernetes #WildFly #JakartaEE #Kubernetes #Java

Open Liberty's Maven documentation has all the pieces. The end-to-end path is spread across plugin goals, dev mode, feature installation, and packaging.
I connected and validated that path with Java 21 and Jakarta REST 4.0: hot reload, Failsafe against a real server, a clean CI build, and a runnable JAR.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@APIdia/116856260922400209
We are adding GlassFish to APIdia.
HK2 was the first milestone, Grizzly is the next.
On the way, several foundational GlassFish subprojects are added, such as gmbal (GlassFish MBean Annotation Library) and pfl (Jakarta EE Primitive Function Library).hk2: https://apidia.net/mvn/org.glassfish.hk2/hk2

GlassFish HK2 is the reference implementation of the jakarta.inject specification within the EE4J project and powers the GlassFish Application Server and the Jersey REST Framework.
Adding HK2 API reference documentation to APIdia is our first milestone for supporting the Eclipse GlassFish ecosystem!https://apidia.net/mvn/org.glassfish.hk2/hk2

There has been some interesting discussion on #JakartaEE 11 and #Java servers over on Twitter. The draft of the spec has been updated to require JDK 17 rather than requiring JDK 21. I agree with the decision. To maximize adoption, JakartaEE must support JDK 17 and optionally JDK 21. Dropping JDK 11 is the best we can hope for right now.

How to find people easier on #Mastodon? Simple, make it easier for them to find you. For example, if I say I am interested in #OpenSource, #PostgreSQL, #Linux, #Java, #JakartaEE, #GlassFish, #WildFly, #Jetty, #Tomcat, than is not #hashtag spam, it is just the truth. 🤓
