  1. Every accessibility journey is different, and each one brings a unique perspective. In our latest Employee Spotlight, Roxana Fischer shares her journey into accessibility, what has shaped her career, and why everyone should learn about screen-reading technology.

  2. I'm starting day three without #JAWS on my new job. While JAWS is sitting there worrying about its missing authorization code and telling me I have to restart and work in 40-minute mode, #NVDA is humming along giving me exactly what I need to keep working! So now we ask which is the truly professional screen reader? #accessibility #Vispero

  3. Thanks to #JAWS Picture Smart AI, I am able to complete some questions in my User Experience Design course that lack any description. #NVDA has a couple of addons that can do this, but the JAWS feature allows me to drill down to specific page elements. #accessibility #Vispero

  5. Huh. SO the new #Humanware BrailleNote Evolve is apparently partnering with #vispero to offer 6 months of "JAWS For BrailleNote" subscription for free. I have many questions:

    - How is Jaws for BrailleNote different from JAWS for Windows?
    - What happens when the 6-month period is up?
    - How does offering only 6 months at the beginning of one's ownership of the Evolve line up with working your way up to JAWS from the Keysoft interface? WOuldn't the subscription already have expired once the learning curve gets to that point, or can one redeem this later?

  11. I see that an update to JAWS 2026 was released on Monday. While I find the link to download the new version, it doesn't appear when I choose Help > Check for Updates. Does anyone out here know why? #accessibility #JAWS #Vispero

  17. @robini71 @DavidGoldfield just grateful that #Vispero still has that yearly plan for JAWS. But wow, OpenBook is still being sold, and for that price, when one can now get reading hardware for not much more than that, I do believe.

  19. Has anyone been observing any unusual crashes of #Chrome and #Edge with #JAWS lately? Its gotten so bad over the past week or so I've been forced to rely on #Firefox, which doesn't perform as well especially with some of my stuff at work. Turns out browser upheaval is real. #Vispero insists it is a #Chromium bug, but I haven't found any references to such a thing lately. Turns out I've stumped my employer's IT team, #Google, #Microsoft and #Vispero with this one.

  20. My anecdotal experience says that Windows 11 is far less stable than Windows 10 and JAWS 2024 is far less reliable than JAWS 2023. Anyone else observing the same behavior? Anyone figured out reliable steps to reproduce so that a credible bug could be logged? #accessibility #Windows #blind #JAWS #Vispero #FreedomScientific

  21. JAWS 2024 cannot handle nested HTML tables. Try browsing to w3schools.com/howto/howto_html in Chrome or Edge and use the control+arrow keys to navigate. Observe table navigation is not possible in that nested table. If you agree, please let @freedomsci know so it can be fixed soon. #accessibility #Vispero #JAWS

  24. Just noticed that in the latest version of the JAWS screen reader (JAWS 2023), UI Automation live regions are now announced; they weren't in JAWS 2022. Thanks #Vispero. Now I don't have to compromise on the UIA implementation in #AccessKit by using notifications where live regions should be used. #accessibility
