Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor accused Israel of selectively manipulating malnutrition data from Gaza and using the 0.5% figure from the 2026 nutrition survey led by the UNICEF Nutrition Cluster to deny the famine indicators reported by the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification.
The Monitor said this figure, which is based solely on the weight-for-height indicator, effectively means that one in every 77 children under the age of five suffers from acute malnutrition.
The rate rises to around 1.3% when other indicators, such as mid-upper arm circumference, are taken into account.
The Monitor noted that Israel ignored the stunting indicator, which stood at 12.2% among children, explaining that stunting reflects long-term nutritional deprivation and chronic malnutrition and cannot be assessed through a short-term wasting indicator alone.
It added that the survey data cover a limited period and do not necessarily capture cases that occurred before or after the survey or repeated relapses.

No porque el espectáculo hubiera sido malo, sino porque un simple aplauso podía delatar la reunión y poner en peligro a todos los presentes.
El silencio era la única forma segura de mostrar admiración.Para evitar llamar la atención por su nombre británico, Audrey incluso comenzó a utilizar el nombre de Edda van Heemstra durante la ocupación.
La guerra también golpeó de lleno a su familia.
Uno de sus tíos políticos fue fusilado por los alemanes como represalia por un sabotaje que nunca cometió.
Uno de sus hermanastros fue enviado a trabajos forzados en Berlín y otro tuvo que esconderse para evitar correr la misma suerte.Después llegó el llamado "Invierno del Hambre" de 1944-1945.
La escasez de alimentos fue tan extrema que Audrey sobrevivió alimentándose, entre otras cosas, de bulbos de tulipán.
Aquellos meses le provocaron anemia, desnutrición y problemas de salud que arrastraría durante años.Cuando terminó la guerra quiso convertirse en bailarina profesional, pero los años de hambre habían afectado a su desarrollo físico.
Su profesora, la prestigiosa Marie Rambert, le explicó que difícilmente llegaría a ser primera bailarina.Ese sueño roto terminó llevándola hacia otro camino: el cine.
Décadas después, ya convertida en una de las actrices más admiradas del mundo, nunca olvidó lo que había vivido.
Por eso dedicó los últimos años de su vida a colaborar con UNICEF, convencida de que ningún niño debería pasar por el hambre y el miedo que ella había conocido.Quizá por eso Audrey Hepburn transmitía tanta elegancia.
