  1. When I was living in Sri Lanka during Covid, I remember people didn't want to eat fish, because Indians often put dead bodies into rivers, which end up in the Bay of Bengal near Sri Lanka and into the bellies of fish.

  2. 📝
The #EAWAG just published a report on "Mainstreaming Decentralised Urban Water Management Solutions for Sustainable Cities" where they talk about sustainable water and sanitation solutions at different scales.

Some of our work in the OCAPI program is also mentioned in there 😉

  3. Following up my previous posts ⬆️
I wanted to show how the agri-#food and #excreta management systems contribute to bringing us beyond the Earth planetary boundaries.
I did not find anything to draw "blurry" graphs to show uncertainties, so I ended up doing it manually via #inkscape, with radial gradients ;)

Here is the final result, using mostly data from:

  4. Manual scavenging: The unending pain of India's sewer workers

Manual scavenging is banned in India but the practice is still commonplace, with people forced into it because of rigid caste rules and the lack of other livelihood options. Successive federal governments, including the current one, have missed several deadlines to declare India free of manual scavenging, most recently in August this year.
