End of May chicken updates!
All 10 original chicks are getting strong and doing well! I've taught at least a couple of them how to use the chicken swing, and I'm so proud of them. They bob their head to keep up the momentum and everything, it's wonderful.
We added 3 black copper maran chicks to the total numbers today! They're inside until they're big enough to begin the slow integration into the flock!

My life has been a wild ride. I'm thankful for how I've ridden it out, and the people around me. Life feels so uncertain, but there are sure and steady places I can land, and I recognize there are lots of people for whom that isn't true.
Like the crawfish, I'm going to keep building soft places for people to land and build on. Never thought about my work that way before just now... how connected it is to my people's origin story. It's a comforting thought. #UmaSeyah #IndigenousGulf #Indigenous #activism #IndigenousCreatives
