My people, the Houma, have recorded queer and nonbinary/trans peoples met and written about since colonization began, from the early 1700s and before.

This is not new. It is reclaimed from colonial genocidal forces. It has survived, and so will I, and so will my people.

You do not have to be on hormones or ever go out of your way to dress in a a way that is different than you did before identifying as non-binary.
