I remain unconvinced that these things are anything more but lumbering behemoths in the Drone War. They are what Battleships were to the WWII theatre, powerful but vulnerable and outdated by new developments, (ironically 'Aircraft Carriers')
Thinking about how much of the Russian Navy Ukraine has taken out without any aircraft carriers or missile cruisers

The Russians fuck with us physically, the Americans fuck with us socially and financially.The Yanks are causing race riots in the UK via their social media networks and the Labour Government won't do a thing to stop them. Personally I don't think we should have nukes at all, though I accept that reasonable people may take different views.

Thank you. The article states that when they are retired (most are still in service), they will have served over 40 years. I hope compelling MPs to discuss the matter will force them to quantify that cost of refurbishment and associated training, and where that money gets spent (probably mostly in the UK), and weigh that up against the benefit it would confer to Ukraine, and the other spending options that might compete for that money. I understand we're committing 5% of GDP on defence spending. I'd love to see it spent in the UK.
