The SNP and its members are victims of Peter Murrell's embezzlement, not the perpetrators. It was SNP party funds that were embezzled, not public money. The investigation into Nicola Sturgeon cost £2m, and she was entirely vindicated. All the gum-bumping and teeth gnashing by Baillie, Fraser, etc., will not change that.
Sorry to all those bitter unionists who believed Operation Branchform was the smoking gun that would destroy the SNP and pave the way for Sarwar to swan into Bute House.

The #SNP is the crucial vehicle for #Scotland's journey to a better politics, free from Westminster rule. That journey is made much harder if the vehilce lacks basic management. And it is less likely to be completed if voters lose trust in the vehicle.

It's a common outcome. Prosecutors save the cost of a trial. Murrell gets a shorter sentence. Court backlog eased.
But the evidence now remains private. That's unhelpful for #SNP members .
The SNP needs an independent report on how the £600,000 was not ringfenced as promised, and how the motorhome purchase was not spotted. Members need to know why basic oversight failed on big ticket items, and what's the fix.
