Nach wochenlanger Pflege wurden sechs unterkühlt an britischen Stränden angespülte Unechte #Karettschildkröten von der britischen Marine in der Nähe der #Azoren in die Freiheit entlassen. Die vom #Aussterben bedrohten Tiere waren geschwächt und dehydriert, nachdem sie vermutlich von der #AtlantikStrömung bis nach #Großbritannien getragen wurden. Dank der Unterstützung durch #Aquarien und die #RoyalNavy konnten sie nun in wärmere Gewässer zurückkehren.
