well... Some god damned white cishet rich old men effectively killed sampling thanks to their AI fetish and gave immeasurable power to copyright lobbies as a result
This is like, really fucking awful for music as a whole. It means the future death of sampling as a whole as copyright holders can use bullshit AI to detect samples even if they're heavily manipulated and a few seconds longs and potentially ruin lives just because in this capitalistic kyriarchic bullshit world we live in they technically have the rights to do so even if they have absolutely no moral fiber in that regard. The fact that the lives of many musicians can be ruined just because some record company used some AI bullshit is fucking dystopian. They're robbing us our ways to express ourselves and defy those fuckwits
This article obviously tries to put a positive spin at the end, saying that "this new method puts control into the hands of anyone looking for certain samples" but of course tech giants and copyright lobbies will significantly and disproportionately benefit from this garbage at most while the common person will have far less access to use these tools for far more alustric purposes like documenting samples and stuff as they will be put under paywalls, NDA, trade secrets, etc.
This is the shit that i feared that would happen with AI as a musician, i never bought about the supposed benefits of AI on art and i was concerned about it's ethical issues for a long while now and about how it can be significantly abused by really awful people. And here we are now... This shit sucks

  15. What i like the most here ( #mastodon )...
i don't need to read all these negative posts /replies from the toxic #pokemongocommunity .
I don't mind criticism if it's constructive. But this permanent #thisisbad, #unfair, #hearus for every change, mistake or whatever made me sick.Wait a bit and problems will be fixed.
Imo, this "we want everything everywhere immediately " isn't healthy at all.
If you feel angry and lost fun why don't you take a break? Just do sth.what gives you a good feeling.
