Op vrijdag 21 augustus stappen we samen op de fiets om een krachtig signaal af te geven: de openbare ruimte is van iedereen. Toch voelen veel mensen zich nog steeds niet vrij of veilig om alleen over straat te gaan zodra het donker wordt. Daar willen we ons niet bij neerleggen.

Met deze fietstocht maken we zichtbaar dat de nacht ook van ons is. We fietsen samen door het centrum van Den Haag, en langs plekken die veel vrouwen als onveilig hebben aangekaart, om aandacht te vragen voor een veiligere openbare ruimte en om te laten zien dat niemand beperkt zou moeten worden in zijn of haar vrijheid.

LHBTQIA+ mensen, vrouwen en iedereen die buiten de norm valt, ervaren nog elke dag onveiligheid. Op straat, thuis en in het publieke debat. Van intimidatie en uitsluiting tot fysiek en dodelijk geweld.

Wij pikken dat niet langer.

DE HEKSENNACHT

De eerste Heksennacht vond plaats in 1978. De naam verwijst naar de heksenvervolgingen, waarbij vooral vrouwen en gemarginaliseerde mensen werden vervolgd, gemarteld en vermoord. Die geschiedenis is geen afgesloten hoofdstuk. De echo’s klinken nog steeds door in het geweld en de haat waar LHBTQIA+ mensen en vrouwen vandaag de dag mee te maken hebben.

Daarom gaan we samen de straat op.

Tegen straatintimidatie.

Tegen patriarchaal geweld.

Tegen seksisme en LHBTQIA+ haat.

Tegen elke vorm van onveiligheid.

Samen maken we de nacht zichtbaar van ons. We verlichten de duisternis, laten onze stemmen horen en staan zij aan zij in solidariteit.

AFA Nederland roept alle antifascisten op om die dag ook naar het Noordeinde in Den Haag te komen

Onder het motto “Laat ze niet herdenken” organiseren de Haagse Stadspartij (HSP) en een aantal anderen op 24 april in Den Haag een anti-fascistische actie- en picknickdag. Dat gaat gebeuren op de plek waar in 2023 en 2024 een extreem-rechtse herdenking van de maffiabaas en huichelaar Willem van Oranje plaatsvond. De organisatoren van die herdenking, de fascistische clubs Voorpost en Geuzenbond, kunnen nu niet terecht op die plek, bij Paleis Noordeinde en op het plein waar een monsterlijk ruiterstandbeeld van Willem van Oranje staat.
