I'm watching the foofaraw around D&D and Hasbro/Wizards of the Coast and I don't think I've ever seen a company go this far out of their way to screw with their money-making brand. I mean, TSR lead the way, back in the 90s, and Game Workshop more recently, but they both pale before the greed and duplicity on show in the current crapshow. And the easily provable lying by WOTC (when they bother to respond at all) is off the hook. Can't wait for the court cases...

Well, with the #WotC crap going on. I first lowered my tier from DM to Player, then decided to just cancel outright.

After Wizard's of the Coast shocked the gaming world with changes to OGL (Open Gaming License) that makes it illegal to homebrew pushing out the entire 3rd party scene, Paizo has stepped in to save the day a new License. ORC (Open RPG Creative License). Unlike OGL it is not owned by any individual company and instead a license developers can opt into (kinda like MIT for programming or w/e.) A bunch of major publishers are already on board with more signing up as everyone is fleeing Wizard's.

Posting online about the #OGL has been fairly easy - no one cares about my opinions.

But canceling my #DnDBeyond subscription was the first real step I took to support this #TTRPG community during this whole #OpenDnD environment.

I love DnD but there's a lot of trust that has been lost because of Hasbro. I can see a separation from the corporation as an avenue for me to come back to their table. #StoptheSub #DnDBeGone
