🏥Standish Hospital (Gloucestershire, England) This abandoned hospital had an impressive collection of peeling paint!
Some history. Once a 16th-century country house, Standish Hospital evolved through major medical eras. It treated 2,000 soldiers during WWI and later became a TB sanatorium.
After 1947, it served the NHS as a specialist chest hospital before closing in 2004.
It was demolished a few years ago.

If I stand with one foot in the air and my finger on my nose, I have internet after last night's string of storms in Michigan. This is the first real test of our microgrid since it was installed a few years ago. Some thoughts:

Editorial: Pump the brakes on Maine Turnpike spur
April 18, 2022
via #RestoreTheNorthWoods"#Maine is barreling down the road on a more than $200 million infrastructure investment that even its own backers agree is not enough to fix the current problem and could make things worse in the future. It’s the proposed #Gorham-#Westbrook connector, a five-mile toll road being developed by the #MaineTurnpikeAuthority. New roads lead to more driving. It’s called '#InducedDemand.' Traffic congestion in Westbrook, #Scarborough, #Standish and #Gorham is not just a highway problem. Though these towns are some of the fastest-growing in Maine, public transit is not viable because the population is so spread out. Without allowing for denser development and offering a real transit alternative, building a faster road from Gorham to Portland could simply drive the development further west. Until we know where we’re going, this project should slow down."

Grade I listed St Wilfrid’s Church in Standish needs to raise money for urgent repairs to their spire. They have organised two open days with tours of the old church building to help the fundraiser.

Ugh. Today’s #Myth is short #Standish numbers of project failure etc. These numbers are oft quoted in the #Agile Community, with no knowledge of their source, how the data was gathered etc.
In fact they don’t give you access to their data. They don’t tell you much about their methodology. All we really know they rely on self reports from people in their survey system. Being kind, at best their data has many sources of bias built in.
In practice, this means that inviting Google to roll D100

Given the #twittermigration, it's probably time to re-up an #introduction given the space has changed since 2018.
