Completely forgot to post this note, here is the post about setting up the #FrameworkLaptop: https://5uie1.netlify.app/2022/06/12/frameworksetup. In this post, I document the process I followed in order to setup the computer with #slackware. After almost 7-8 years, it was a surprisingly easy transition back into #linux. The power of the laptop meant I abandoned #dualboot and am using Windows on a VM with #slackware15 as the host system.

Going to attempt to install #slackware15

@RevXenoFact I sent my $35 to Pat Volkerding this time for #slackware15, but this reminds me that "Bob" needs some money too! Thank you for the reminder!

Now that I have the updated KDE Plasma, #KDEConnect works a lot better. Send a text message from my computer! How cool is that?!?! I don't even have to look at my phone anymore... it just needs to be on the network somewhere.

I thought I'd try using Calligra for awhile instead of LibreOffice. While it does look nice... This interface is going to take a long time to learn.

#slackware15 Announcement!

"Another too-long development cycle is behind us after we bit off more than
we could chew and then had to shine it up to a high-gloss finish. Hopefully
we've managed to get the tricky parts out of the way so that we'll be able
to see a 15.1 incremental update after a far shorter development cycle.
Certainly the development infrastructure has been streamlined here and things
should be easier moving forward.

#slackware15 is imminent.

#slackware15 Pat just said two things in the changelog. Not sure what it means, but he is either going mad, or he is almost ready to release Slackware 15!

I think when #slackware15 drops, I will be replacing my longterm use of #alpine on my desktop with it. It should be pretty enough for my wife to not complain about 1990s interfaces, which is the main reason I wasn't using #slackware14 on the family/communal desktop anymore
