Wie schafft Windows das eigentlich immer wieder, das Grub-Menü, das mir beim Start des PC eigentlich auch die Option Linux zu Booten anbieten soll, so kaltzustellen, dass Windows durchbootet und man vom Grub-Menü gar nichts mehr sieht?
Ich muss dann jedesmal ins UEFI-Setup, manchmal sogar zweimal, um das wieder zu richten. 🤯
Und Nein, kein Windows ist leider keine Option. Vorerst.

I have a 2009 MacBook.

I want to dual boot Snow leopard (os x) and Linux - possibly KDE but I haven't settled on that yet.

Is dual boot possible or am I just heading for a world of pain?

Also I'm familiar with KDE Plasma but is there a better Distro better suited for this ?

Still playing with the Framework 12 laptops.

So yesterday evening, I installed Haiku. Strangely enough I had to install using the beta5 iso, as installing with the 3 latest nightly isos just failed 🤔
However, after the successful installation, upgrading to the latest nightly just worked fine 🤷‍♀️

The system is installed in UEFI mode in dual boot with Pop OS and using rEFInd as a boot manager.

Now some observation about Haiku on the Framework 12:
* While in the live environment during installation the trackpad works, once Haiku is installed and booted, it does not work 😪
* The WiFi is working contrary to the installation on my Thinkpad T450 😀

Así receta corta de todo esto:

1. Install macOS, bigSur in my case
2. Create new partitions from macOS.
3. Install Ubuntu indicating that the boot will go on the root partition / not on the disk.
4. The system reboots directly into Ubuntu.
5. I installed rEFInd from deb package.
6. Now start the rEFInd and let me choose.
