Inspired by a very insightful post by @dlakelan I'm finally getting around to asking about a CLI issue I'm having.
Apparently xmms2 doesn't have tab completion out of the box. My distro is Mint 22.1. So far I figured out that I need to add a text file for it to /usr/share/bash-completion/completions/. Weirdly there's already one for regular xmms. So I found one at:

And added it to the directory but still no luck. I feel like I'm missing something basic but what is it??

Hm-m, XMMS2 compilation failed (waf). Looks like I need python2 specifically. That's tough, considering I don't have one in Debian 🤔

XMMS2, which I had installed since previous release, doesn't seem to work with Debian 12. Damn. It starts, but after adding files it cannot play anything. Maybe I should compile it myself… But later.

Pushed minor `xmms2-0.9.3` release a few minutes ago. Apart from a few minor cleanups it has `cython-3` compatibility fixes.

Managed to debug a fun xmms2 bug today.

Heute kam ich wieder ein bisschen zum #basteln. Die Infrastruktur um die #t0nybox ist etwas ausgebaut und die erste Karte in der Version 1 (locked #QR) ist fertig. Die Karten werden nun nach Aufnahme in die Kartenverwaltung freigeschalten.

Kleinere Optimierung: #sshfs wird nun per #autofs on #demand gemounted. Timeout: 3600 Sekunden. Das wird etwas Last vom Filer nehmen, wenn der Prototyp nicht mehr alleine ist. :-)

Beim Thema "Wie #Update ich, bzw die #Kinder die Box eigentlich?" bin ich nun einen Schritt weiter.
Das #Remote Script nimmt nun auch einige "System #QR Codes" an. 🙂
Updates gehen damit dann so einfach wie ein Lied starten.

Heute bin ich bei der Implementierung der Kinder #Radiosender auf ein ungeahntes Problem gestoßen. 😮
Werden dort #Weblinks in #qrcode Codes hinterlegt, werden diese teilweise so groß das die Erkennungsrate deutlich darunter leidet. Also, kurz noch nen #Shlink Container aufgesetzt um die #URL's zu kürzen. 😄

@WinstonSmith: #XMMS2 is still in #Debian, just currently not in #DebianTesting, but in #Debian11 aka the current #DebianStable as well as in #DebianUnstable: https://tracker.debian.org/pkg/xmms2
(Or doesn't XMMS2 have that #WinAmp UI anymore? Can't remember as I no more use #GUI music players anymore for quite some years. I just use an #xterm and the #CLI #mediaplayer #mpv. Also works for many video streaming portals.)
