This. I noticed that the latest big offender is the Rust Foundation who in the discussion for their new AI/LLM policy specifically forbids this type of discussion saying mods have been specifically instructed to enforce this in the discussion. What a trash institution.

Lars Bergstrom from #Android just announced that they are **donating $250k** to the #RustFoundation! The money goes to improving interoperability between Rust and other languages. An additional **$100k** is donated to the #Rust Crater project in the form of #GoogleCloud credits.
I think this is nice! In today's #Google, this is a significant sum of money, so kudos to Lars for pulling this off!

Well, it's probably safe to say that I have exhausted whatever tiny sliver of access being an acquaintance of a rust foundation board member bought me and they probably won't answer my questions. They gave me the "legal" answer, then when I pressed more they said they didn't know any more and if I would "like to speak to a staff member."
This part of the convo happened on the day the Lavender/"Where's Daddy" news dropped, so I pressed on that as frankly, that's the kind of thing Helsing wants to profit from. It's just been radio silence then, and I assume I'll get nothing more.
Unless I get more info, I'll take the silence for what it is: complicity. Fuck you, #rustFoundation. If you "have to accept" blood money, you don't deserve to fucking exist, so fuck off. -

OMG! This just cannot be true (but it is) 🤦♂️
Read carefully: crates.io account system totally tied to Github accounts and teams/organizations.
This means that no one can publish a crate without publishing its source code to Github.
And you know what Rust developers and Rust Foundation do about that? They've locked an issue regarding that 3 years ago 🤷♂️
